Most people don’t know that there actually are High yield savings 
accounts that exist, and most people don’t know that it just about wipes 
the cost of inflation out on that money you have in there.

Not bad right? Most people don’t even know these exist as I said, but if 
you tell them the first response should be what? Well what are the terms, 
do I have to deposit a big amount or keep a high balance, and the answer 
for many of them is no. Here is a deeper breakdown for top 5 mentioned 
above. 

1. Vio Bank- ​Established in 2018, 2.52% APY, $100 minimum 


balance to open. There is a $5 dormant account fee per month 
after 12 months without customer-initiated activity. The account 
has no monthly fee and interest is compounded daily on this 
savings account. 
2. Web Bank-​ Established in 1997, 2.50% APY, $1,000 minimum 
balance needed for APY. The WebBank savings account doesn’t 
have a monthly fee, there is a $25 fee for an outgoing wire 
transfer. Lastly if your account drops below $1,000 they will close 
the account and return your money. 
3. Comenity Bank Direct-​ Established in 2017, 2.45% APY, no 
minimum balance needed for APY. The account doesn’t offer an 
ATM card or a debit card for ATM access. But you are able to 
initiate free ACH transfers. 
4. MySavingsDirect-​ A branch of Emigrant bank, started in 1850, 
2.40% APY, $0 minimum balance to earn APY. It doesn't matter 
how much money you keep in your MySavings Account because 
all balances earn the same APY. Interest is compounded daily 
and credited on a monthly basis. There are no minimum balance 
fees or service charges on the MySavings Account. ATM access 
isn't available for this account. 
5. CIBC-​ Established in 1991, 2.39% APY, $1 minimum balance to 
earn APY, $1,000 minimum required to open the account. The 
bank proudly states that this account has no maintenance fee. 
CIBC Bank USA also has a mobile app for both Apple and 
Android.
