I. Cutting Tools

 Side Cutting Pliers

 Used for cutting fine, medium and big wires and


cables.
 Special diagonal cutters that are ground flush to
the apex of the cutting edge on one side of the
jaws are often used. These flush-cutting pliers
allow wires to be trimmed flush or nearly flush
to a solder joint, avoiding the sharp tip left by
symmetrical diagonal cutters.

 Wire Stripper

 A tool used for removing insulation of


medium sized wires ranging from gauge.
 a small, hand-held device used to strip
the electrical insulation from electric
wires.
 Wire strippers trim the coating off the
ends of wires so you can connect them
to one another quickly
 Electrician’s Scissors

 All purpose scissors for cutting cable,


removing cable jackets, trimming kevlar,
or any other daily requirement of today's
installers.

 Pocket Knife

 A foldable knife with one or more blades


that fit inside the handle that can still fit
in a pocket

 Linesman Pliers

 Used by electricians and other


tradesmen primarily for gripping,
twisting, bending and cutting wire and
cable.
 Aluminum Snips

 Used by electricians and other


tradesmen primarily for gripping,
twisting, bending and cutting wire and
cable.

 Long Nose Pliers

 This is used for cutting and holding fine


wires. This can reach tight space or small
opening where other pliers cannot reach
and also used in making terminal loops
of copper wires.

 Utility Knife

 Needed to cut the insulation off of


Romex wiring. You will also need to open
boxes when doing the installation and
this tool will come in handy.
 Hacksaw

 This tool is used to cut metal


conduit and armored cable.

 End Cutting Pliers

 also known as end cutters, nippers or


end cutting pliers, are used to cut
through materials such as wire, springs,
nails, rivets and bolts. They feature
much sharper jaws than carpenter's
pincers and an almost flat bladed head
which lets you cut close against the
surface without digging into it.
II. Driving Tools

 Screw Driver
 A screwdriver is used for driving screws.
Screwdrivers are of various shape and
sizes according to the work they are
required to do. There are two types of
screwdrivers. They are named Flat head
screwdriver and Phillips screwdriver.

 Claw Hammer

 are used by carpenters principally for the


driving in of nails to connect timber
together. The claw part of the hammer is
used to grip nails and to remove them
from the timber.

 Nail Punch
 These are used for punching or "setting"
the head of the nail below the surface of
the timber. They are made in various
sizes to suit the particular size nail being
driven, they have a concave point to
seat on the head of the nail.
 Phillips Screwdriver
