Koryo symbolises "seonbae" which means a learned man, who is characterised by a strong martial spirit as well as a
righteous learned man's spirit. Spirit inherited through the ages of Koguryo, Palhae and Koryo is the background of
organising Koryo poomsae. The line of the poomsae represents the Chinese letter which means "seonbae", a learned
man or a man of virtue in the Korean language.
