I.

SIGNIFICANT LEARNING

I never thought that partaking in On-The-Job Training would help me so much. I learned a lot of
things that at first I didn’t believe I can do. This course helped me put in action all those I lessons
and knowledge I acquired during classroom discussions inside the University. From just listening
to my instructors, participating and taking up exams, I begin to apply all of it in real life working
circumstance while I’m in a company. I can say that I am somehow acquainted formally in a
very mature and professional work place environment.

Being able to enter Hyundai Alabang- Naga Branch as a trainee is very challenging and at the
same time a great opportunity for me. I can say that the workload is not easy. There are days that
I consider not going to work due to pressure and stress, but at the end it all work out. I am able to
experience those of the actual employee faces every day. I became an Insurance Coordinator,
LTO Admin, Sales Coordinator, and even an Accounting Staff that really challenge both my
body and mind. I learned to become flexible since my work requires a lot of awareness and
understanding. I started value time management more than I do when I’m in school. I also
learned how respect towards the bosses and authorities affects my performance. And most of all,
I realized the importance of adaptation to the professional field.

Most of my time in office, I learn to increase my efficiency in performing tasks that were
assigned to me. Now I can say that playing part in this training is also a form of investment to
become a valuable asset to a company and to become an effective member of the workforce. I
was also given the education and tools to work better and improve my career potentials by my
superiors and workmates. Thus, it became my motivation which in the long run became my
stepping stone to value my engagement as a part of the team.

We were also sent outside the four corners of the office, to an actual field to communicate with
people and to showcase the competitive qualities of our product. Here I learned the proper way
of approaching customers and use the current trend to help our company reach a potential buyer.
I am also able to use my marketing skills that the university honed in order to offer a great deal
to our target market. Plus, I learned that there are times that even though you’ve given so much
and give a lot of important fact, some customers will still decline, but it doesn’t end there. We
must always be optimistic and try again to encourage a buyer.

After all I experienced during OJT, I believe that I still need more time, if not so much of it to
learn things in real life. I learned not only the academic lessons that being thought in school but
also got a glimpse of how the life outside of university works. I learned how to handle stress,
meet expected requirements in a given time, and most especially I learned how to appreciate the
work and time that was trusted to me. Those times I spent in my training are still not enough to
become accustomed in a company. I still have so much to learn. Moreover, I learned how deal
with different working situations. I am enabled to understand and respond better in both
managerial and market demands. I was also given the opportunity to establish an interest in the
commercial activities of my company. And I am most thankful to be provided by an actual
general work experience where I applied my skills which I acquired at the school and at the same
time acquired relevant skills outside of it. To sum up, I believe that all my significant learning
during OJT will play a big role in my future professional endeavors.

II. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND ACTIONS TAKEN

I was working from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon during my OJT and obviously while
I am at it I faced so many challenges and problems which not only test my knowledge but test
my whole being as an employee.
