Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a company’s commitment to manage the social,

environmental and economic effects of its operations responsibly and in line with public
expectations. In short, it refers to a company's sense of responsibility towards the community and
environment (both ecological and social) in which it carries out its operation.

business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the
quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society
at large.

Corporate social responsibility may include the following:

 Company policies that insist on working with partners who follow ethical business
practices.

 Reinvesting profits in health and safety or environmental programs.

 Supporting charitable organizations in the communities where a company operates.

 Environmental protection and sustainability.

 Socially responsible investment (SRI) which refers to any investment strategy which
seeks to consider both financial return and social/environmental good to bring about a
positive change.
