This morning, we will discuss about
“ Parts of insect-Grasshopper”

B. Development of the lesson


One of the common insect e can
found is the grasshopper. It has different
parts.
This is the appearance of a
grasshopper.

The first part is the head. Where can The head is the anterior of the three
we found the head of the grasshopper? body regions of an adult insect.

It bears the eyes, the antennae and


the mouthparts

The second part is the thorax.


Everybody read.
Thorax is the middle of the three
body regions of an adult insect. It is
composed of 3 segments. It bears three
pairs of legs and usually 2 pairs of wings.
What is the third part?
The abdomen, which is the posterior
of the three body regions of an adult
insect. It is composed of 11 segments.
How about its wings?
The wings are membranous but in
some insects, they can be leathery or
hard.
Next are the legs.
Adult insect have six legs. In some
insects, the legs are specially adapted
for jumping.
What is the use of the antennae?
Insects used the antennae to detect
odors or they use them as tactile organs.
The last part is the mouth. The
mouthparts of adult insect can be of
different types.
