Thank you for purchasing our device!
This quick start guide will help you become familiar with our device in a very short time.
Before installation and operation, please read the following safeguard and warning carefully!

Important Safeguard and Warning


1.Electrical safety
All installation and operation here should conform to your local electrical safety codes.
We assume no liability or responsibility for all the fires or electrical shock caused by improper
handling or installation.

2.Transportation security
Heavy stress, violent vibration or water splash are not allowed during transportation, storage and
installation.

3.Installation
Keep upwards. Handle with care.
Do not apply power to the device before completing installation.
Do not place objects on the device.

4.Qualified engineers needed


All the examination and repair work should be done by the qualified service engineers.
We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or attempted repair.

5.Environment
The device should be installed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, inflammable,
explosive substances and etc.

6. Accessories
Be sure to use all the accessories recommended by manufacturer.
Before installation, please open the package and check all the components are included:
Contact your local retailer ASAP if something is missing in your package.

1 Hardware Installation and Connection
Note:
z All the installation and operations here should conform to your local
electric safety rules.
z This series product shall be used in the indoor environments, machinery
room, or the case in the outdoor environments. DO not use it outdoor
directly.

1.1 Front Panel


The front panel is shown as below. See Figure 1-1.

SN Icon Function
1 RESET Reset button. Press it for a long time to restore
factory default setup.
2 PWR Power indicator light. The device is running
when the red light is on.
3 ACT Status indicator light.
Green light is on: Device is running properly.
Green light is flashing: Device is upgrading
now.
Light is of: Device is off or it is abnormal.

1.2 Rear Panel


The rear panel is shown as in Figure 1-2.

1.3 Cable Connection


z Before the cable connection, please make sure device and cable are no damage.
z Before you boot up the device, please make sure all cable connection are OK.
z This device has no on-off button. The boot up process may take 2-3 minutes. Please
be patient.
Please follow the steps listed below.
1) Connect one end of the network cable to the network port of the rear panel (please refer
to Figure 1-2) and then connect the other end to the network.
2) Connect one end of the video cable to the video input port VIDEO IN of the rear panel
and then connect the other end to the camera.
3) Connect the power cable and then boot up the device, now you can access it.

2 Quick Configuration
Before the quick configuration, please check the front panel first. If the PWR light is red and ACT
light is green, it means device has properly booted up.
You can refer to the following flow chart for detailed information. See Figure 2-1.

2.1 Network and Protocol Setup


a) Debug network
1) Connect the device to the PC via the network cable. Set the PC IP in the 192.168.1.X
section. Device default IP address is 192.168.1.108. Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
Gateway is 192.168.1.1. You can use quick configuration tool to search device IP.
Right now, system does not support dual-network function. Please use Ethernet
port 2. The dual-network port is reserved for future development.
2) On the PC, use command ping to check network connection is OK or not. The network
connection is OK if the return TTL value is less than 255. Otherwise the network
connection is offline.
3) You need to check cable connection, network parameter setup, device power supplying
and etc if you can not connect to the network.

b) Change device IP address


1) Open IE browser and input IP address such as http://192.168.1.108 . You need to
download and install latest controls if it is your first time to login the WEB. See Figure
2-2.
Please note right device support Maxthon and IE browser only. You need to
check whether there is plug-in forbid you downloading controls, or you need to
lower you browser security setup.

2) Input user name and password on the login interface. Select LAN or WAN and then
click Login button. You can to the main interface. See Figure 2-3.
Device default user name is admin and password is admin.
For security reason, please change your password after you first login.

3) From config->system config->network, you can go to network interface. See Figure 2-4.

4) Now you can set network parameter. You can set current Ethernet port as default
network adapter and then change corresponding IP address, subnet mask, and
gateway. Please click Save button to save current setup.
5) Use command ping to check the new IP works or not. You need to check cable
connection, network parameter setup, device power supplying and etc if you can not
connect to the network.
If you new IP is in new IP section, please make sure you have changed your PC
IP in the same IP section. Or you can use the other device in the same IP section
to access the device.
c) Snapshot setup
1) From Config->Advanced->Snapshot, you can go to the snapshot interface.
2) Select channel 01 from the dropdown list and then snapshot mode shall be activation.
Please click Save button to save current setup. See Figure 2-5.

2.2 Login PSS


Double click Pro Surveillance System installation file and then click the Next button to go to the
installation wizard. See Figure 2-6.

After the installation, please input the user name and password to go to the software main
interface. The default user name is admin and password is admin. See Figure 2-7.
Important
For security reason, please modify your password after first log in.

2.3 Add Device


After initialization, system goes to the main interface. In the main interface, there are real-time
monitor interface and other operation and function menu. See Figure 2-8.

In the main interface, go to the Setting Manager (on the right pane) and then click the Device
Manager item, See Figure 2-9.

You can go to the following interface See Figure 2-10.

In Figure 2-10, click Add button, you can go to the following interface to add NVS. Please input
name, IP, port, user, password and etc .Click the OK button to save the setup. See Figure 2-11.

Right click the device name and then click Login. You can see system pops up a dialogue box at
the bottom right corner after you successfully added the device. See Figure 2-12.

Now you can view the newly added device name in the Device List on the right pane. Double
click device name and then select corresponding channel, drag to the real-time monitor window,
you can view corresponding real-time bit stream. See Figure 2-13.

2.4 IVS Function
2.4.1 Normal Scene
2.4.1.1 Global Setup
Calibration aim is to confirm the actual size of the object in the video and its position. It is to
enhance the accurace of the object classification so that the system can recognize the video.
Calibration Area
1) Select the Global setup and then select scene type.
2) Click Add area: Please draw in the channel video to specify the calibration area (It shal be
the level video).
3) Select the Vertical (staff gauge): Input actual length and then select the Add gauge button.
Now add three vertical gauge in the calibration arew. Please make sure the calibration
length is simlar with the actula length and the three vertical gauge shall be displayed as a
triangle.
4) Select the Level (staff gauge): Input the actual length and click the Add gauge button. Now
you can add a level staff gauge in the calibration area. Please make sure the calibration
length is simlar with the actula length. See Figure 2-14.

5) After you set the calibration, please use the calibration check tool to check it is reasonable or
proper. Select the level to check the plane distance and select height to check the vertical
distance. You need to set again if the error is too huge.

2.4.1.2 Module Setup


In the whole monitor area, there is only one detection zone and several excluded zones (The
excluded zone is an area in the detection zone, system will not detect.). System detects whole
video scene by default if there is no detection zone setup.

Add detection zone
In the module setup interface, click the Add detection zone button, you can draw in the channel
video to specify the area you want to detect. Select detection zone and click the Redraw button,
you can draw the detection zone again.
Add excluded zone
Select the detection zone and then click the Add excluded zone button, you can draw in the
detection zone to specify the excluded zone. Select an excluded zone and click the Redraw
button, you can draw the excluded zone again.
Object filter
The object filter is to set the target size range. The object size within the threshold will be saved.
The object filter has two filters: one is for all types and the other is for person. You can refer to
the user’s manual for detailed information.
2.4.1.3 Rule Setup
Click the Rule setup interface; you can set the alarm rule setup. You can add/delete several
alarm rules for one channel. The rule type includes: tripwire, cross warning zone, abandoned
object detection, object protection detection missing object detection, loitering detection and etc.
See Figure 2-15. For detailed rule setup information, please refer to the user’s manual.
You can click Add rule button to add several alarm rules to one channel. Or you can click
Delete rule button to delete some rules.

2.4.2 Indoor Scene Type
In Figure 2-14, select indoor type from the scene type dropdown list. It is for indoor environment
detect. The module setup, rule setup interface are the same as the normal scent type. You can
refer to User’s Manual for detailed information.

2.4.3 ATM Scene Type
1) Select module setup and then draw keyboard zone, screen zone, card slot zone and detect
zone.
2) Select rule setup and click Add rule button. Input a rule name here. The default rule name is
Rule 1, Rule 2….Or you can input your customized name. The type includes person, all type,
and sticker. The detection action includes in area or cross area. See Figure 2-16.

2.4.4 Face detect


1) In Global setup interface, select a face detect type (large face/small face/large&small face).
2) In module setup interface, draw detection zone and excluded zone. See Figure 2-17.

3) Click add rule button and then input a rule name. It includes normal face, abnormal face, and
adjacent face.
For the face detect function, it first detects human face profile and then detects eyes, mouth, and
nose. The face is normal if system can detect all the items. Otherwise, it classifies it as abnormal
face. See Figure 2-18. It is to detect behavior such as wearing sunglasses, respirator, and cap.

2.4.5 Alarm Setup
When an intelligent alarm occurred, system can automatically send an activation picture to the
PSS. You can view alarm activation position information.
Please note system only sends out activation picture once when it generated. System will not
send out again during the alarm process.
a) From Config Manager->Alarm Config, you can see the following interface. See Figure 2-19.

b) From Config Manager->Alarm Config, please check the box to enable intelligent alarm
function. See Figure 2-20.

c) After you enabled the intelligent alarm function, right click the channel and then select the
Alarm Setting-> Intelligent alarm, you can activate an alarm setup. See Figure 2-21.

d) You can see system pops up a dialogue box when the corresponding alarm event occurred.

e) Double click a record, you can view the picture. See Figure 2-23.

f) You can also view the alarm information at the bottom of the PSS main interface. See
