If entrepreneurs cna pinpoint their traget market’s needs then they can already GENERATE ( to
make/ create ) business ideas by Exo-Nos-S-BusiLoca-Aray-YOS

Existing Outside- Those businesses which are successful outside their community or barangay may be
profitable also in their own community or barangay. For example, a successful lugawan or tapsihan in a
nearby barangay may give you an idea to set up a lugawan or tapsihan in your own.

No Supply- Those with high demand but no business is available to sell them. For example, When there is a
school without any store selling school supplies near it so opening a school supplies store may be a
great business idea.

Business in your Locality- You may open a store to compete with already successful stores in your
Locality or barangay.

Available Resources Around You- It is a better idea to open a business of Buko Pie Production than
Strawberry Pie if you are located in Laguna or Tagaytay where there is an abundance of coconuts
than have strawberries delivered to you from Baguio which would yield lower profit.

Your Own Skills- If you are good at photography then, opening a photography studio may be a good
idea. You do not need to hire others and pay them to do the job because you can do it yourself
without extra cost of labor.

After generating business ideas, the next step is SCREENING (Select only the best ) the
business ideas using the following criteria CDMeBLie

Capital- Do you have enough capital to set up the business ideas you generated? If not don’t do it yet.

Demand- Is there a demand for the business idea you generated? Maybe your product is feminine but your
business location is nearby an exclusive boy school. Maybe the product you want to sell is not supported by
the community where your store is located. Consider and respect religion and culture of the people around
them.

Met- How is the demand met? Maybe the business you want to compete with is already closing and just
having a clearance sale offering a buy 1 take 5 promo. You don’t want to compete with a business already
doomed for bankruptcy or you will be bankrupt yourself.

Background- You have studied bartending for Grade 9 in school and you have learned all the
basics and have acquired mastery in it because you also studied it in Senior HIgh School and even
worked as a bartender for many years but you set up a business you do not know about- Computer
Repair which really doesn’t make sense, isn’t it better to open a bar instead?

Legal- Is it legal. If it isn’t then, it is not worth it . You will just be punished by law for opening
a business contrary to the law.

Interest- Do you have interest in it? Even if you are not a master of it but being interested in it will make you
strive to be better in it because you want to learn from it. For example, you are a k-pop fan so it is a good
idea to open a business about it because even if nobody buys from your store, you can still keep the items
with full satisfaction.

Expertise- You are a skilled bartender but you want to open a bakeshop. You better open a
Business where you can apply your skills.

Branding is a marketing practice of creating name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiate a
product from the other products. It includes a logo,a symbol unique to a product or a brand that identifies it
from the rest and tagline which is a meaningful and unforgettable statement that captures the essence of the
brand.

A factor or consideration presented by a seller as the reason that one product or service is different
from and better than that of the competition is called the unique selling proposition. For example, Unlirice
in Mang Inasal.
