LX Manual Addendum #3

Overview of LX revision A8
This revision of the LX drive includes all models, LX-400, LX-700,
and LX-1100. Functionally, this revision of LX amplifiers is fully
compatible with all existing applications with the most prominent
changes being the three additional troubleshooting LEDs and the
new power connector. It also incorporates some circuit board layout
and component changes to provide for faster, more reliable circuit
board assembly and testing.
Power Connector
The power connector, located at the bottom of the connection strip, was
changed to one that provides a 20% higher current rating. This increases
the margin and thereby the reliability. This new connector will
physically fit the previous revision amplifiers but doesn't use the original
hold-down screws. Instead, it uses integral clips that mate with the
receptacle to secure the connector in position. When changing amplifiers
between revisions, this connector must also be changed to match the
amplifier receptacle.
Diagnostics LEDs
The three additional diagnostic LEDs, when used in conjunction with
the standard indicators, provide more specific information on the
possible cause of the trouble. The following drawing and chart outline
the new LED diagnostic functions and the most likely solutions.
