Eine Bitte sei hier angefügt: Komponisten können ihre Arbeit nur ausführen, wenn sie Zeit dafür haben.
Um Zeit zum Komponieren zu haben, brauchen sie Einkünfte aus ihren Kompositionen. Diese realisieren
sich bei Kunstmusik und dazugehörigen Instrumentalschulen ausschließlich über den Noten- oder
Tonträgerverkauf und Aufführungen. Um den Boden zu erhalten, auf dem Kunstmusik wachsen kann,
sind Notenverkäufe und Aufführungsmeldungen bei z. B. der GEMA unverzichtbar.

Wenn sie einen lebenden Komponisten kennen, dessen Musik sie unterstützen wollen, schicken sie
realisierte Konzertprogramme mit seinen Stücken direkt an ihn. Dabei ist es unwesentlich, ob es sich um
ein Konzert im großen Saal oder ein Schülervorspiel mit kleinen Stücken handelt. Es kommt sehr oft vor,
dass die Erlöse aus Aufführungsrechten nicht beim Komponisten ankommen.
