Grade III

I. Objectives:

At the end of 1hour, 80% of pupils should be able to:

A. Discover the different sense organs.


B. Appreciate the importance of the sense organ of the body.
C. Draw the sense organs.

III. Procedure: (4c’s) Project Based Approach

A. Motivation
(I will ask them some question about five senses)

 Children, what is the condition of our weather for today?


 What do you observe of our surrounding?
 What have you seen?
 Do you hear sound?
B. Communication
(Lesson proper)

 Eyes is our sense of sight. The eyes is for seeing, we could see things
in our environment with the use of our beautiful eyes. We could
identify the colors, textures, the height, the size of the different things
because of our eyes.
 Nose is our sense of smelling. We could smell the perfume, the
fragrance of the flower because of our nose. The use of nose is to be
able to smell things
 Ear is our sense of hearing. The ear is the organ that detects sounds.
We can hear sweet music, bark of dogs etc.
 Tongue is our sense of taste. We can identify the taste of foods
whether it is sweet, sour, delicious, and salty.
 Skin is our sense of touch. Sense of touch is important in a number
ways. It can detect different textures as well as temperature of different
level. Our skin enables us to detect is something is cold, soft or spiky.

 What organ do we use for seeing?
 What is the use of our nose?
 What is the function of the ears?
 What is the function of our tongue?
 What is the organ that we use for feeling?

C. Collaboration
(Group activity)

 I will group them into 3 groups and each group will identify the objects
using their sense organs.
 Each group will be given 3 objects (cracker, chocolate, and cupcake)
 I will give them 20 minutes and report their output.

D. Critical Thinking
(Ask question about the importance of sense organs)
 Why the Sense organs are important?
 Can we live without Sense organs?

E. Creativity

 Draw the five Sense Organs (eyes, nose, ears, tongue and skin)

F. Assessment

Can you tell which sense organs you will use to describe the following:

1. The height of the building. Eyes


2. The taste of Ampalaya. Tongue
3. The texture of a silk cloth. Skin
4. The fragrance of sampaguita. Nose
5. The beautiful music. Ears
6. The color of your friend’s eyes. Eyes
7. The flavor of your mother’s recipe. Tongue
8. The sound of guitar. Ears
9. The heat of the hot pot. Skin
10. The temperature in the Baguio city. Skin

IV. Assignment

1. How can we take care of our sense organs?


2. Bring the following materials.
Bond paper, pencil and coloring materials (for tomorrow’s activity, they
will draw thing that can be use for taking care of themselves)
3. Answer page 22 in your book.
