We thought of you with love today,

We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name, Silent times of time together,
All we have are memories,

were important to the individual and to their family.
For example, one simple, yet touching memorial for someone that loved
flowers would be the gift of flower packets. Just using packets of flower
seeds to give to those at the visitation and/or the funeral service would
be okay, but it could be much more. Picture a table set up in the chapel,
with a table cover from this lady's kitchen. On the table would be a large
garden basket, tied with a beautiful bow on the handle. Next to the
basket would be her gardening gloves, and hand tools. In the basket
would be packages of forget-me-not seed packets, with a label printed
on each saying
"...please take one of these packages in my memory. I hope the flowers
bloom, bringing you joy, as my family and friends have brought me joy!
God Bless You!" Love, Helen.

TIP OF THE HAT

A young woman has been seen working her way
along Elizabeth Avenue in Hampton with 2-3
young children in tow. They have been picking
up litter as they go. What a good person she is to
instill in these children that littering is not a
good thing. And hopefully the children will grow
up to be better citizens because of her teachings. I'd like to
send out a tip of the hat to this young group and their leader.
A Hampton Citizen
If you would like to send a “Tip of the Hat” to acknowledge someone who
gives of themselves to their community without recognition or pay, just send
us their name, community and a brief description of their acts of kindness.
