Installing the Canon D30/D60 with DH Client V4.

8 Onwards

?? If you are installing software and hardware devices on a computer that is operating
windows 2000 you must log on as an Administrator.

Canon D30/60 Installation Procedure

1. Locate the appropriate setup programme, depending upon Windows version and
camera type, from the |drivers\Canon USB cameras on the software resource CD.
Double click on the Setup.exe file. Press the [Next] button.

2. Press the [Yes] button if you accept the agreement.


3. Press the [Next] button.

4. Press [Finish].

5. Press the [OK] button.

6. Connect the D30 camera to the computer using the USB cable supplied, then
power-up the camera. If a message asking you to chose an [Event Device] or an
imaging application is automatically lunched when the D30 is connected select
[Cancel] or quit the application. The event must be disabled as discussed below.

Disabling Events for the D30

?? Each time the camera is detected (powered-up) an imaging application will


automatically be launched. To prevent this occurring the “Event” for the camera must
be disabled as follows.
1. Connect the camera to the computer and close any imaging application that is
automatically lunched. From the [Control Panel] double-click the [Scanners and
Cameras] icon. Highlight the [EOS D30] and press [Properties]

2. Select the [Events] tab. Uncheck all the application that are under [Send to this
application] window and the check the [Disable device events] box. Press [Apply],
then [OK].

3. Press the [OK] button then exit from the [Control Panel].

Upgrading the USB Driver / Camera

?? You will need to follow this procedure if you have upgraded to DH Client V4.8
(or newer) or whish to change the between the D30 and D60 cameras.

1. From the Control Panel select System the select the ‘Hardware’ tab, click
[Device manager].
2. Expand the ‘Imaging devices’ Icon then right mouse click one the D30 /
D60 icon and select [Properties].

3. Click on [Reinstall Driver]. Click [Next], [Next], select ‘Specify a location’


then click [Next].

4. Click [Browse] then locate the appropriate file (dependent on Windows


version and camera type) from the Canon USB camera folder on the
Software Resource CD.

5. Click [OK], [Next] then [Finish]. You may be required to reboot your PC.
