Athletics

I. Objectives:
a. execute starting-up skill of sprints properly
b. develop running speed
c. explain the values develop in playing the game

II. Content:
a. Subject Matter: Sprints
b. Reference: Physical Education and Health Book I.
c. Materials: Running Area, Baton
d. Values: Self-Control, Self- Reliant, Self-Discipline, Teamwork
e. PHASE: Process/Skills

III. Procedure:
a. Motivation/Drill:
Warm-Up Exercise
Shuttle Run
b. Review:
Teacher will ask some questions like:
What is the Etymology of the Word “Athletes?”
What is the difference between the track and field events?
c. Presentations of Lessons: Showing the pictures of how to Start a Sprints.

A1. Activity: Pre-Lab.


Mechanics:
1. Each group will be given a task which is to interpret the procedures on how to
start a sprint.
2. Follow the procedure thoroughly to get the highest score of ten.
3. Do the task in 5 mins.
4. Each group will have to present what they have interpreted, in front of the class.

A2. Analysis:
What could we benefit in doing Athletic games like running?
Why do Athletes undergo a proper training in joining the game?
Why do we need a proper starting position?

A3. Abstraction:
What is a sprint?
How to start a sprint?

A4. Application:
Practicing the Proper Starting Position.

IV. Evaluation:
Rubrics of Performance. “On your mark, Get set, Go”

V. Assignment:
What is Sprint Relay?
What is/are the equipment used in playing relay?
