NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SILCHAR
This workshop is aimed to enlighten the participants with the
basic knowledge of software services having application in
business world. Recent advances and their alternatives will be
discussed to encourage the research in this area. Main
emphasis will be provided on the evolution of agent
technology and its role in building more advanced service
oriented computer systems.

Prof. Dr. Rainer Unland is
professor in University of Duisburg-
Essen, Germany who chairs the
Data Management Systems and
Knowledge Representation. He has
published more than 200 articles
and has served as editor-in-chief in
some reputed journals like MAGS,
EAAI etc. Non-Standard Database
Management systems, Multi-agent
Systems, Service-oriented
Computing, and, Future energy
networks are some of his current areas of interest

expert faculty from University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. The

application in engineering. Special focus will be put on On
alternatives for software developments, detail discussion on
service oriented architecture and web services specifically multi Multi Agent System and its
agent based services.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
=
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, an Institute of
National Importance under the NIT Act was established in 1967
as Regional Engineering College (REC) Silchar in Assam. In year
2002, it was upgraded to the status of an NIT from REC. NIT
Silchar is situated on the banks of river Barak and on a
sprawling campus spread over 600 acres of land on the
outskirts of Silchar. The landscape of NIT Silchar campus is
beautiful with natural lakes and hillocks, surrounded by tea
gardens. The climate of Silchar during February/March is very
pleasant with normal temperature around 27-300C and little
cloudy. NIT Silchar is a fully residential institution with nine
hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. It has six engineering
degree offering branches and five non-engineering branches. It 1st April – 4th April, 2016
conducts various programmes, including organizing the
workshops, seminars, conferences, invited talks etc. in
