Circular on Continuing Education Programme for


pharmacy teachers (Two Pilot Programmes)

A) Applications are invited from the pharmacy institutions approved by the Pharmacy
Council of India u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 for the purpose of registration as
a pharmacist for conducting two (2) pilot programmes for conducting Continuing
Education Programmes for pharmacy teachers. The format for applying to PCI for
the conduct of Continuing Education Programme for pharmacy teachers is enclosed
herewith as Appendix-I.

B) The details of the scheme for conducting CEP for pharmacy teachers are given as
under -
a) PCI shall conduct 20 CEPs for teachers per annum across the country.
b) PCI will give a grant of Rs.3.00 lakh per course per institution for the conduct
of CEP for teachers.
c) the institutions which are approved u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act for the purpose
of registration as a pharmacist and having 10 years of standing shall be eligible
to conduct the CEP and receive the Council’s grant.
d) Participation for CEP
 Number of teachers in each training programme shall be limited to 30 only
as per the following breakup –
- No. of teachers from host institution - 3
- No. of teachers from other institutions - 27

 The PCI member of the said state / nearby state may also be associated with
the said CEP.
e) Resource Persons and topics for CEP
 PCI will make a list of Resource Persons alongwith list of topics to be
covered in CEP with focus on teaching / learning methodology.
 institution will also be allowed to have its own Resource Persons.
f) Duration of the CEP
 3 days full time.

g) Budget
 PCI will give a grant of Rs.3.00 lakhs per CEP.
h) After completion of the CEP, the institution will be required to submit the
following documents:
i) utilization Certificate.
ii) A certificate to the effect that the expenditure claimed has not been sought
from any other source.
iii) brief report of not more than 5 pages.
iv) a few photographs (5)as a documentary evidence.

The interested institutions may apply in the prescribed format so as to reach the
Council by 15.2.2018 positively on Council’s email id pci@ndb.vsnl.net.in
