Course Rationale:
A strong recruitment and selection process is key to the success of any organization. This course
provides an insight into the concepts, practices and strategies for the effective selection of human
capital to meet growing business demands. Emphasis will be on recruiting employees based on the
strategic needs of the organization. This course covers the concepts on HR planning, Recruitment,
Selection, Job descriptions, interviewing techniques, assessment, testing, background investigations,
compliance requirements, reporting and analytics and diversity issues, etc.

Course Objectives:
1. To bring out the challenges of recruitment manager in various business situations
2. To familiarize the recruitment functions of human resources planning, recruitment and selection
3. To apply human resource planning tools and /frameworks to reflect critically on business specific
contexts
4. To familiarize the challenges faced by the recruiter in Indian and global contexts.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Comprehend and appreciate the steps involved in recruitment and selection function.
2. Analyze job requirements, (job analysis), prepare job descriptions and job specifications.
3. Develop recruitment plans after taking care of necessary requirements.
4. Develop plan for selection of right candidates with necessary checks required.
5. Develop requisite knowledge on Human resource planning and staffing strategies based on the
organizational diagnosis
