INTO English
Language Assessment
The INTO English Language Assessment (IELA) is an online test of your English
language ability. It’s designed and assessed by Cambridge English, who are part of
the University of Cambridge and have a long history in English Language assessment.
WHAT IS COVERED?
The assessment takes up to two hours to
complete and is based around the four core
skills of English Language. Within these,
your comprehension, detail, grammar and
vocabulary will all be tested.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The test is online, so it can be taken
anywhere as long as there is an approved
invigilator on site to supervise. Your reading
and listening score will be generated
immediately based on the answers you give.
For the writing and speaking elements, a
Cambridge English examiner will mark your
test and you’ll receive your score within 48
hours. You’ll also receive a printed certificate
showing your IELA scores in each of the
areas of the test.
