Let me begin with a Story.

5th Std. Classroom, AVHS

The topic for that day’s lesson was “My Dreams, My Goals”. To make the session more interactive,
the teacher encouraged the students to share their dreams and aspirations in life. The teacher was
pleasantly surprised to find all kinds of new Ideas, Thoughts and Professions. She saw an
Astronomer, a chartered Accountant, a Radio Jockey, an Engineer, a Teacher, a Pilot, an
Archaeologist, a wedding Planner, an IAS officer, a Journalist, a fashion Designer, a Businessman and
whatnot. The teacher was happy to see that such diversity existed in the thoughts of the kids and
wished them all the best.

13th March 2019

Today was the reunion of the 2012 passed out batch of AVHS. Their class teacher was eagerly
waiting to listen to their stories of journey after school. She was extremely confident of the
capability of her students and knew that they would not stop until they succeeded. She rushed to
welcome them. She hurried towards the first one and asked”Hi Karan. How are you? What are you
doing in life? I’m so glad to see you.” He replied, I’m great ma’m. I missed you. I’m an Engineer
now”. She was glad to hear that. As she was interacting with her students, the teacher couldn’t help
but notice that about half of them were Engineers, a few doctors and a CA and a Lawyer in between.
Most were in search of jobs or were working for a meagre pay, while some planning to go abroad for
higher Education. Very few of them she noticed were actually satisfied. She was sad to see such
talent gone waste. Later at night she wondered whose mistake it was, the student’s, the teacher’s,
the Parent’s, the School’s, the Government’s. Whosever fault it was, she wished it wouldn’t be the
same for her next batches.

This is the change I want in my Country by 2025.The same thing the teacher in my story wishes for,
that is to see the Youth of the Country achieving to the fullest of their Potential. The most important
challenge to this would be to achieve 100% enrolment in schools and imparting of Quality Education
till employment. In order to achieve this there is a need to fabricate policies in a decentralized
manner, to ensure policies which can be more personalized suiting the needs of Different regions.
Measures like Improvement of Government Schools can play an important role in ensuring equity
and Accessibility of Education. Awareness must be created among the Students and Parents about
the importance of Education and various Opportunities available in Different fields of Study at school
level. Maintenance of Quality in Educational Institutions at Graduation level must be checked by
Special committees consisting of Educationalists, experienced teachers etc. Premier Educational
Institutions must be endowed the job of improvising other Institutions by organizing Short term
Training programs. Such efforts made by the Government, Students and other Stakeholders can
create a major change in the Employment scenario of our Country. Hence I want to study Public
Policy to develop policies that not only create livelihood to people but also ensure prosperity and
happiness in my country.
