AIRBUS RECRUITMENT SYLLABUS

Introduction
The Recruitment Full Flight Simulator Assessment guide contains syllabus intended to be used
as part of the evaluation process for Type or Non-Type Rated Flight Deck Crew applying for a
pilot’s position in Qatar Airways.
Additionally, it c o n t a i n s the related operational documentation required for t h e
assessment, including Performance, Weather data and Operational Flight Plan.
JEPPESEN charts will be provided in simulator premises.
There will be NO post session debriefing and the candidates will be allowed to use previous
airline NOP’s (SOP) but should adhere to Qatar Airways S t a b i l i z a t i o n Criteria given below to
determine level of awareness.

STABILIZATION CRITERIA
 Landing Gear Down and landing flaps selected by 1500ft.

 A go around is mandatory if any of the following is not achieved by 1000ft AAL:

 Flaps in Landing Configuration and landing gear down.

 Speed brake armed.

 Stable on final approach path or glide slope.

 Stabilized at command speed.

 Landing Checklist Completed.

Objective
The objective of the Full Flight Simulator assessment is to evaluate each candidate in the m a i n
a r e a s of competences, such as level of communications, Airmanship, situational
awareness, decision making and manual handling skills.

Proficiency Criteria
Candidate will need to reach the level of proficiency required by Qatar Airways requirements given
at the end of this leaflet.

Each candidate will be detailed for an assessment session of one hour which may include;
 Normal take-off procedure.
 Handling exercises (as required)
 Abnormal (as required)
 Instrument approach (as required)
 Visual Approach (as required)
