Historical Background

With absolute determination, Guaranfood Manufacturing Corporation was established in October 1988
by its founder Ms. Clarissa A. Cavero. The company started its operation with minimal capital
investment and manpower support. With the Hawaiian Ham as its sole product, the office, as well as the
factory, was housed in a 52 sq. m. lot within the family residence.

In 1989, the company shifted to production of condiments, making the Hawaiian Ham a seasonal
product during Christmas season.

With the growing demand for its quality food products & cognizant of the fact that critical factors such
as convenient access to public transport, communication, water system, electricity & available needed
resources are important in the success of any manufacturing venture, the company has started the
construction of a new building in 1994. This is strategically located at Everlasting St., Patria Village, Del
Remedio, San Pablo City, through the assistance of the Technology & Livelihood Resource
Center and Planters Development Bank.

Hence, the company shifted from a backyard-type to a fully commercialized food condiments
manufacturing business. This served as the catalyst in the growth of GUARANFOOD MANUFACTURING
CORPORATION.

Since then, continuous upgrading of facilities is being undertaken.

Delivery vehicles are acquired to assure timely delivery of products to clients from various locations.

Continuous upgrading of equipment is also being undertaken. In 2003, an Automatic Filling Machine was
installed which the company acquired through loan assistance from DOST SET-UP Program. In addition,
bigger S/S Steam Jacketed Kettle was acquired. This increased the capacity for sauces
production. Cooling Bath was also installed in the same area to improve production process flow and
product quality.

products. Thus, it shall continuously exert efforts in developing more products of highest quality at the
lowest possible prices.

With the growing demand for its quality food products, the company, shifted from a backyard-typed to a
fully commercialized food processing business. This necessitated the construction of an approximately
1800 sq. m. from the original 270 sq. m. building which now houses the office, the processing plant, the
warehouse and other facilities.

The following facilities cater to the increasing demands of its valued clienteles:

1. The OFFICE

All Administrative and financial transactions are accomplished in this area. The office is equipped with
powerful computer units and communication peripherals that make office processes and client access a
lot easier and faster to accomplish

2. The PROCESSING PLANT

The plant is equipped with machinery and equipment, which are operated mechanically through a
central control system. It has a complete in-line S/S steamed jacketed kettles for the production of
condiments.

Also, it has complete in-line processing equipment for its dressing production.

3. The LABORATORY
The building likewise houses a laboratory operated by highly trained qualified personnel for its Research
& Development functions and in monitoring quality to assure that the products produced is of optimum
quality.

To fully support the specific as well as the continuous changing needs of consumers, the company
continuously exerts effort to improve and assure its existing products and to develop new ones that the
company can proudly add to its existing product lines.

4. WAREHOUSE Finished products, as well as manufacturing materials are properly stored on a First-
In-First-Out (FIFO) basis.

5. WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES

Environment considerations are given much weight in the design of every facility. Measures to
prevent any type of pollution or health hazards within the vicinity of the firm, as well as to its
adjacent areas, are properly considered and applied.

And to uphold its commitment to be environmental friendly, the company installed a

complete WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY to ensure that it will not append to the fast
deterioration of our aquatic resources.
