Our Authority

Releases God’s Power

There are a number of keys to seeing the miraculous power of God
manifest on a consistent basis. One of the least understood, and
therefore seldom practiced, is the fact that healing is under the
authority of the believer. God has already provided His healing power
and placed it on the inside of every born-again believer. It is up to us
to release it. Understanding and using our authority is the key to
seeing miracles happen.

Look at how Peter and John ministered healing to the lame man in
Acts 3:1-8:

“Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of
prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his
mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the
temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into
the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple
asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John,
said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive
something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but
such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up:
and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he
leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple,
walking, and leaping, and praising God.”

Notice that Peter didn’t pray for this man. He also didn’t ask God to
heal him. He said, “Such as I have give I thee.” This didn’t mean that
Peter was the source of this healing. Notice what Peter said in Acts
3:12,
“And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of
Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as
though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?”

It was God’s power that healed this man, but that power was under
Peter’s authority. Peter went on to say in verse 16 that it was faith in
the name of Jesus that had wrought this miracle. But Peter didn’t ask
God to heal this man. He believed the Lord had already done His part
and had placed that power within him. Now it was Peter’s
responsibility to release that power, and that’s just what he did.

The Lord never told us to pray for the sick in the sense that we ask
Him to heal them. He told us to heal the sick. There is a BIG
difference between the two. It has to do with operating in the authority
He has already given us. Look at these commands the Lord gave His
disciples.

“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power
and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them
to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”(Luke 9:1-2)

“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them
power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner
of sickness and all manner of disease.” (Matt. 10:1)

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely
ye have received, freely give.” (Matt. 10:7-8)

Jesus told us to heal the sick not pray for the sick. What a radical
statement! This will get you kicked out of most churches today, but
these are the exact words of our Lord Jesus Christ. And this is
precisely why more people don’t see the miraculous results they’re
praying for. They aren’t taking their authority and commanding God’s
power; they’re passively asking God to do what He told them to do.
I know this goes contrary to popular Christian doctrine. We’re
constantly told that it’s not us but God who is the Healer, and I agree
with that totally. But, I also believe that God has placed His healing
power under our authority, and it is up to us to release it. If we don’t
take our authority and become commanders instead of beggars,
God’s power will not be released. There needs to be a radical
renewing of our thinking on this issue.

A good friend of mine, Dave Duell, held a meeting in Africa many

years ago. It was one of his first times he saw miracles such as the
blind and deaf healed. The people were so excited that they were
mobbing him as he walked through the streets, trying to touch him so
they could be healed. His first thought was influenced by this religious
thinking I’m trying to change. He thought, They shouldn’t be looking to
me. I’m not the healer; it is Jesus. He was about to stop them when
the Lord spoke to him. The Lord said, “Dave, do you remember when I
rode that donkey into Jerusalem, and all the people put their garments
and palm branches in the way and cried, ‘Hosanna’? What would you
have thought if the donkey had spoken up and said, ‘It’s not me! It’s
not me’? That would only have revealed the donkey’s arrogance. No
one was praising the donkey; they were praising the One that was
riding the donkey.”

When Dave recognized the people weren’t trying to touch him but the
One he was carrying, he let them touch him all they wanted and
people were healed. This is exactly what happened with the first-
century disciples. Peter had people line the streets so that if only his
shadow would touch them, they would be healed (Acts. 5:15).

Look at an amazing passage of Scripture in Isaiah 45:11.

“Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me
of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my
hands command ye me.”

What a powerful scripture! What does the Lord mean when He tells
us to command Him? Well, He certainly doesn’t mean we are mightier
and more powerful than Him and can order Him around. He means,
concerning the things He has already done, He wants us to take our
authority and command His power.

It’s like electricity. The power company generates the power and
delivers it to your house. It’s not your power, but it’s under your
control. You don’t call the power company and ask them to turn the
lights on. No! They won’t do that. They generate the power, but it’s
under your command. You simply flip the switch on the wall and
command the power to work. Does this mean you are the power
source? Certainly not! You can put a light bulb in your mouth, and it
will never come on. You aren’t the power source, but you are the one
in control of what that power does. You can plead with the power
company all you want, but they won’t flip the switch for you. You have
to assume your authority and acknowledge the power is under your
command.

That’s what the Lord was speaking of. He has already healed
everyone who will ever be healed. He did it two thousand years ago
when He bore our stripes on His back. Then He deposited His
resurrection power inside every believer (Eph. 1:19-20). He’s done His
part, and now it is up to us to do ours. We need to take the authority
He has given us and become commanders instead of beggars. This is
a powerful truth that works, and it’s the reason we see so many
miraculous healings. We aren’t just praying for the sick; we are
healing them in Jesus’ name.

I know this line of thinking raises as many questions as it does

answers, so I’ve produced a teaching on The Believer’s Authority. I
have some radical teachings in this album. For example, who do you
think made Satan? Most people think that God made Satan, but that’s
not so. God created Lucifer, a wonderful, powerful, godly angel, but it
was mankind who made Satan. There is a difference between creating
and making. This could revolutionize your whole approach toward the
devil. Satan isn’t using some superhuman, angelic authority against
us; he’s using the authority and power that was given to man by God.
Therefore, Satan can’t do anything to us without our consent and
cooperation. Hallelujah!

How to Walk in Dominion

God never intended for His people to live in defeat. He destined you to rule.

Have you noticed that more and more people today are searching for meaning and
purpose in life? This trend provides abundant opportunities for Christians to reach out
with the supernatural power of God to influence their culture. Researchers claim that
more souls have come into the kingdom of God in the last few decades than in all the
centuries combined since Christ's ministry on earth.

However, the battle against darkness is not diminishing. Statistics reveal the
probability that only 4 percent of today's youth will embrace evangelical Christianity.
If we have the answers to life's questions, why are we ineffective at reaching people?

We are entering what the Bible calls the fullness of time, and much is at stake. God is
positioning us to advance His kingdom into every realm held captive by the enemy.
To be successful, we must understand our authority in Christ—what some call
"kingdom authority" or "dominion rule."

Dominion rule has become a regular confession among many believers. The church's
voice is resounding with the desire to see the manifestation of our God-given
assignment to rule and reign over the earth (see Gen. 1:26-28).

However, if all we do is confess, this goal will not be realized. Authority does not
come through confession. Authority is uncompromisingly tied to responsibility. And it
is only one facet of walking in dominion.

You see, God has called us to be His kingdom representatives on earth, to establish a
righteous paradigm. We need more than authority to do that. When we identify the
areas over which He has given us influence and commit to being agents of change in
them, everything we need to transform the culture and cause the lost to be drawn to
Him is made available to us—favor, creativity, power, wisdom and so on.

Taking dominion therefore requires more than simply wielding authority in the name
of Jesus. It requires knowledge and the understanding and rightful use of our position
in Christ. To discover what that position is, we need to look at God's original plan and
purpose for mankind.

God's Original Plan

The Bible declares this purpose: "God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit]
make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness; and let them have complete authority
over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the
earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own
image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created
them.

"And God blessed them, and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth and
subdue it ... and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over
every living creature that moves upon the earth'" (Gen. 1:26-28, The Amplified Bible,
emphasis added).

Having made man in His image, God provided Adam and Eve, the earth's new
stewards, with intellect, creative abilities and an innate gift of leadership to rule and
reign. Our Father is always about the business of His kingdom, and He created man
with the same calling and design. It was a natural outcome that man be given the
responsibility to manage creation, including the earth and all living creatures.

To understand, let's look more closely at this original stewardship appointment.

Kabas, the Hebrew word for "subdue," means "to bring into subjection, to dominate."
It suggests that the party being subdued is not willing to submit. Genesis 1:28 implies
that creation was unwilling to submit to man's leading. Man would have to bring
creation into order by exerting his strength.

Radah, the Hebrew word for "dominion," refers not to God's rule and responsibility
but to man's. It means "to manage or reign from a position of sovereignty." God
fashioned us to share His own authority over His creation.

Adam was to live and move in a kingly manner over the earth as a son of God along
with the incredible privileges and weighty responsibilities of this position. Dominion
was his birthright and pleasure.

But after Adam succumbed to Satan's deception in the Garden of Eden, the enemy
established strongholds in all areas of life to hinder our kingdom mandate.

Thankfully, God made a way for us to regain our kingdom authority. He did not forget
His covenant plan. After Adam and Eve sinned, He sent Jesus, the second Adam, to
save man from his lost condition and provide a better covenant (see Heb. 8:6).

Authority Restored
During Jesus' earthly ministry, the kingdom of God was His focus. His teachings and
parables explained the truths of this kingdom and how to secure an inheritance in it.
Fully God and fully man, He moved in kingdom authority.

Jesus came to establish His rule and the government of God by warring against and
defeating Satan and his stronghold of sin and death. By Jesus' sinless life and
sacrificial death, He reclaimed the dominion given to Satan in the fall.

"'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me,'" He declared (Matt.
28:18, NIV). Exousia, the Greek word for "authority," means "rightful, actual and
unimpeded power to act, possess, control or dispose of someone or something."

Jesus used His authority to disarm the enemy and all his demonic forces and powers.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross" (Col. 2:15).

"Disarmed" also means "stripped." Christ stripped Satan and all his minions of any
power or authority they once had. He restored all that was relinquished at the fall and
positioned us to partner with God in releasing His kingdom.

How does this work? At salvation, we are given the profound privilege of being
adopted into the family of God and becoming His sons and daughters: "He
predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ," the Bible tells us, so
"that we might receive the full rights of sons" (Eph. 1:5; Gal. 4:5).

The Greek word for "adoption" is huiothesian, meaning "to position as an adult son."
When we are born into God's family through Jesus, we are automatically blessed with
the legal rights and privileges of a son. Though at first we are immature spiritually, we
are considered adult sons who can enjoy the Father's wealth and exercise all the
glorious privileges and responsibilities of adult sonship.

We do not have to wait to enjoy the spiritual riches we have in Christ. The Bible says,
"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were
baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ" (Gal. 3:26-27).

We are also God's heirs. "So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a
son, God has made you also an heir" (Gal. 4:7). Kleronomos, the Greek word for
"heir," means "the recipient of divine promises." An heir receives his allotted
possession by right of sonship.

The Bible goes on to say, "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God
and co-heirs with Christ" (Rom. 8:17). Because we are not only heirs but also co-heirs
with Christ, all that belongs to Jesus as the firstborn also belongs to us. A co-heir is a
fellow receiver, a joint participant in all the Father has.

Keys of the Kingdom

As co-heirs with Christ and His representatives on earth, we have the right to exercise
power over the enemy in Jesus' name. We have territorial rights, too.

Legal power usually involves a particular jurisdiction. Jurisdiction implies the ability
to administer justice in a specific area.

What is our area? Since we are Christ's ambassadors—His personal representatives of

the heavenly kingdom to the earthly kingdom—we have His authority throughout the
earth. God partners with us to stand against the works of evil and spread the gospel of
Christ (see 2 Cor. 5:20).

Jesus revealed the extent of our authority when He told the apostle Peter: "I tell you,
you are Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—
a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers
of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out
against it]. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind
(declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in
heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already
loosed in heaven" (Matt. 16:18-19, The Amplified Bible, emphasis added).

The word "kingdom" in this passage refers to royal power and dominion involving the
license or authority to rule. Jesus placed the keys of the kingdom in the hands of the
church. We not only have access to them but also have the right to use them.

In the Bible and in Jewish teaching the handing over of keys implies promotion to full
authority. But what is our actual appointment?

Jesus stated that He would give us the authority to bind and loose. The idea of binding
and loosing was a concept commonly used by rabbis to signify the judicial authority
to forbid or permit. When executed in partnership with and obedience to the Lord, we
have the authority to direct justice in cases held in the heavenly court of law.

Though we do not have the right to tell God what to do, we do have the legal right,
authority and power to forbid what the Lord tells us to forbid and to release and
welcome what He has designed for us to set free. Therefore, we have permission to
forbid on earth what is already found guilty and forbidden in heaven, and we have the
right to allow on earth what is found right and permitted in heaven.
Knowing this, the enemy and the powers of darkness—instead of attacking us—
should be trembling in fear, thinking:Oh, no! What are they going to do to bring us
harm today?

The truth is, the Lord has already declared the final judgment against Satan and his
army. The day for their sentencing to eternal imprisonment in the abyss has not yet
come, but their defeat was secured at the cross.

They no longer possess keys of authority. Jesus restored the kingdom of God in our
personal lives and in creation.

As Jesus, the keeper of the keys, gives direction through the Holy Spirit on a daily or
moment-by-moment basis, we have the legal authority to execute His plans—
provided we are walking in humility, holiness and obedience. When our kingdom
plans are in concert with His and our character lines up with His, the authority to
effect change is realized.

However, if we plan our own agendas, hoping God will bless them, there will be no
lasting fruit, effect or change. It is not our job to direct Jesus. We look to Him to give
us His throne room blueprints.

As we submit and build His kingdom agenda, we will be effective. Change,

transformation and revival will come.

Moving From Defense to Offense

Recently, the Lord revealed a simple but encouraging vision. In the vision, I saw a
football game. One team wore black uniforms, the other white. The team with white
uniforms was the Lord's; the team with black uniforms was Satan's.

At the start of play, the white team had possession of the ball but fumbled. The black
team recovered it and began to run successful plays, forcing the white team to remain
in defensive mode, trying to push the black team back to prevent their victory.

Suddenly, a new white team member came onto the field. He intercepted the ball and
ran a successful play. Then he left the field.

But his teammates seemed unaware that the ball had changed hands and that they had
legal possession of it. Expecting to be on defense, the white team focused only on
defending its territory, allowing the black team to run offense.

Suddenly, the white team realized the ball was rightfully theirs. The other team had
possession only because the white team had voluntarily handed it over. They decided
that enough was enough.
On the next play they intercepted the ball. The player with the ball ran swiftly to the
end zone, unable to be stopped. Ultimately, the white team left the black team in the
dust to win the game.

Mankind is like the white team. We had the ball at the beginning of time, but Adam
and Eve fumbled it, and the enemy picked it up. Later in the game, Jesus intercepted it
and returned possession of it to us. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten the picture yet.

For too long we have been playing defense instead of running offense. The enemy still
has illegal possession of the ball because we allow it. We are so busy defending
ourselves that we don't realize we have the right to grab the ball from him and run for
a touchdown with confidence, faith and authority.

It is time for us to stop asking ourselves, "What do I have to defend myself from
today?" and to start asking God, "What can I do to advance Your kingdom on the
earth?" Then when He gives us His game plan, we can step onto the field with the
ball, running in the direction He tells us, and expect to see individuals, families,
workplaces, cities and nations transformed for His glory.

We cannot allow the enemy to continue to steal the purpose for which we were
created—to exert influence, rule, authority and stewardship on the earth. Creation is
waiting with eager expectation for the revealing of the sons of God and deliverance
from the enemy's hand (see Rom. 8:19-21). Souls are awaiting salvation.

Now is the season to run with determination the race set before us, as the writer of
Hebrews encourages us to do (see Heb. 12:1). We are destined to rule in life with the
King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Let's move into our rightful position as righteous sons and daughters establishing the
dominion standard. "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their
Father" (Matt. 13:43, NIV). And all creation will see.

How to Use Your Spiritual Authority in

Any Situation
Do you struggle with knowing how to use your
spiritual authority for your finances, family or
body? Learn how to use your authority in any
situation.
There is a story of a farmer who found an eagle’s egg and brought it home to his chicken coop.
When the egg hatched, the young eagle only saw chickens around him. Without knowing what he
truly was, he simply mimicked what he saw around him. He scratched and pecked and flew short
distances. He believed he was a chicken; therefore, he acted like a chicken.
Many believers are living the same way—trapped in a chicken mentality. They have received
salvation, but stop short of living life abundantly, as God intended. They want to live in prosperity,
health, protection and peace, but they stop short of achieving victory in those areas for one reason—
they don’t know how to use their authority.
Luke 10:19 says, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.” Jesus has
given you the authority, but you must take it and exercise it.
Are you ready to fly the coop and soar like an eagle? Here is how you can use your spiritual
authority in any situation and claim VICTORY once and for all.

1. Use Your Authority for Physical Protection

“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” –Psalm
91:10 (NKJV)
Salvation includes more than just the guarantee of going to heaven—that’s just the
beginning. Salvation is a big word. In the Greek language, it literally means deliverance, safety,
preservation, material and temporal deliverance from danger, pardon, restoration, healing,
wholeness and soundness.
Do you know what that means? It means you don’t have to be afraid of anything harming you or your
children physically.

Physical protection for you and your family is a Covenant right. Peace, safety and covering from
calamity, disaster or harm of any kind belongs to you.
It is NOT God’s will that people go and shoot up our children’s schools. It is NOT God’s will that we
or our children are filled with sickness and disease or suffer injuries. It is NOT God’s will that we
suffer under any part of the curse. But the devil has come to kill and destroy—he’s looking for a
loophole—a way in to break the circle of protection that encompasses you.
Find A Prayer of Protection Against School Shootings here.
It is God’s will that we stop the enemy, and rule and reign over him.
We live in a dangerous world, so taking your authority for protection should be done daily. It doesn’t
take long—speak a word of protection as you drive, speak Psalm 91 over your family as you head to
work or run errands, plead the blood of Jesus first thing in the morning when you wake. As you make
it part of your daily routine, it will become second nature to you.
Take authority by saying something similar to Billye Brim’s daily declaration:
You listen to me, kingdom of darkness: It is written that I am seated at the Father’s right hand far
above you (Ephesians 1:18-23) and that I overcome you by the blood of the Lamb and the word of
my testimony (Revelation 12:11). So here is the word of my testimony, and here is who you can’t go
near today. I draw the blood around (name your family members), and I plead the blood over myself,
too. You stay away from us! Satan, you stay away from the good works I should walk in. You stay
away from my ministry, my church, my neighborhood, my home, and every vehicle and building we
go into. I draw a bloodline around them.
When you get into your car or fly on an airplane you can say:
In the Name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over my car. Bumper to bumper, side to side, top to
bottom, every part working and nonworking, no one and nothing will bump this car, and we’ll bump
no one or nothing. We’ll get to wherever we’re going without incident.
You have the Name of Jesus and you have the authority of Jesus, and you overcome Satan by the
blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony (Revelation 12:11, KJV).

2. Use Your Authority to Drive Out

Sickness
“No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.” –Psalm 91:10
You have authority over sickness and disease—every cold, flu, backache, cancer, heart disease—all
of it. You have the authority through Christ Jesus.
So, why do we sometimes face these challenges? Simple:
God is not going to override your authority. He gave Adam authority, and He didn’t override
Adam’s decision to relinquish it to Satan. He has given you the same authority in the earth, and He
has given you the way to victory in EVERY situation in His Word.
But He won’t override your authority. He will let you die sick if you choose to do so. You would have
to ignore every healing scripture in the Bible and all that Jesus bought for you when He bore your
sicknesses and carried your diseases, but you have the authority to go ahead and die. God will not
stop you.
So, if you’re talking about your symptoms and sickness, you’re relinquishing your authority to Satan
as Adam did in the Garden of Eden. That won’t get results!
Charles Capps used to say, “Don’t call the dog if you want the cat. If you want the dog, you don’t
step out on the front porch and say, ‘Here, cat.’ You say, ‘Here, dog.’ When you do, you’re taking
authority over that dog and that old dog just comes running right up, wagging his tail.”
Don’t call the dog if you want the cat, and don’t call for sickness and disease if you want to be
healed. Use your authority and command your body to be healed in the Name of Jesus.
When Kenneth Copeland was first starting out in ministry, he was under the mentorship of Oral
Roberts. One night, in the healing room after the service, they came to a woman who had cancer of
the stomach. She was just the picture of death. As they approached her to lay hands on her, in a
loud, growling, authoritative voice, Oral Roberts said, “You foul, unclean spirit, take your hands off
God’s property in the Name of Jesus, whose I am and whom I serve! Come out of her now!”
She instantly spit out that cancer on the floor. (It was the size of a fist and had nasty-looking
tentacles hanging off it.) Then she jumped off her bed and ran around the room shouting, “I’m
healed! I’m healed! I’m healed!”
That same authority is on the inside of you right now. You can use it to heal yourself; you can use it
to heal others—and you should.
When you take authority over your body, say, “Body, I command you to get in line. I rebuke every
symptom in my body right now, in Jesus’ Name. Be healed and made whole from the top of my head
to the soles of my feet. I take my healing! I am healed.”

3. Use Your Authority to Cast Out Demons

“They will cast out demons in my name.” –Mark 16:17
Demonic activity isn’t something you’ll hear preached about on many Sunday mornings, but it exists,
and there is a simple way to deal with it—by taking your authority. Certain countries see a greater
level of demonic activity, but it’s everywhere, and it isn’t to be tolerated—not even for a minute.
In Mark 5:1-20, we see how Jesus handled demons when He drove them out of the demon-
possessed man and into a herd of pigs. He used His authority—the same authority that has been
given to us—to drive them out.
Billye Brim shared a story in her book The Blood and the Glory, about something that happened to
her son Chip and his three friends when they were living in a mobile home while attending college:
“The first day they arrived home from school, they noticed strange things. The doors and windows
were open. Hairdryers and a toaster were on. The television and stereos were blasting. They
thought it was someone playing a joke, but no one else had a key. One night, Chip was in his
bedroom studying. Everyone else was in bed. He heard the front door slam and the whole mobile
home shook. He and his friends ran out of there as fast as they could.”
Many other similar incidents took place that day. They ran to a pay phone and called Billye. She
instructed them to take scriptures and cast out the demons with their authority. Then, she told them
to anoint the doors and windows with oil and apply the blood of Jesus. By using the authority given
to them by the blood and the Name of Jesus, they had no further trouble.
All believers can cast out devils in His name. John Osteen used to say that when demons would
approach his house, they must have said, “Oh, don’t go over there, those people will beat your
brains out.” That’s the way we ought to be when the devil tries to think about coming to our house.
Use the Name of Jesus. Plead the blood of Jesus. Drive demons and any demonic activity out of
your home, your body, your life, your neighborhood, buildings, cars and anything else they try to
occupy. Never be afraid of them—YOU have the authority. And they know it.
4. Use Your Authority to Subdue the Weather
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And
the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” –Mark 4:39 (NKJV)
With so many devastating storms and disastrous tornadoes, floods and other happenings, many
people have asked, “Is God behind it?” The answer is, ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Jesus said in John 10:10: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have
come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (NKJV).
Jesus is our example when it comes to dealing with destructive storms. We know Jesus spoke to the
wind and said to the water, “Peace, be still!” and they obeyed Him. We have the same place of
authority through Jesus. It’s not His place to enforce the laws of the Kingdom in the earth. It’s ours.
So, when the report of bad weather comes, don’t wait and see what’s going to happen. Start
speaking to it, NOW! Go outside, if you can. Shout! Don’t just talk to God about it. Speak to the
elements. Say, “You don’t come to my house! I declare THE BLESSING WALL up and around me,
my family, my property and all that’s mine!”
Forget about what other people think. They already think we’re crazy. Being worried about what
others think is a form of fear, and if the devil can get you to back off, he’ll try to destroy what’s yours
and blame it on God.
You have authority over the weather. Don’t be afraid of any storm, tornado or earthquake. Rebuke it
just as Jesus did.
Watch as Gloria Copeland takes authority over a tornado that was threatening a Convention Center

5. Use Your Authority for Finances

“He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by
his victory over them on the cross.” –Colossians 2:15
If you’ve ever experienced the stress that comes from financial pressure, you know how difficult it is
when you’re so strapped you don’t have enough money to pay your bills.
There are things that can block financial blessing such as being in unforgiveness, failing to walk in
love, failing to tithe and sow, or operating without integrity. Those areas should be checked first. But
if everything is in line with the Word of God, you may be facing an attack of the devil on your
finances. He comes to STEAL, kill and destroy. He does not want you blessed.
Here’s the good news: Jesus reduced principalities and powers to nothing—He took away the
devil’s power to dominate us in any way—including in the realm of our finances. Our job is to act on
this truth. As long as we act like the devil has power over our finances, he will. But if you will believe
in your heart and confess with your mouth what God’s Word says about finances, you’ll be taking
authority, and you’ll get what you need.
So, when you’re facing an attack of the enemy on your finances, take your place of authority. Speak
to the financial mountain. Say, “SATAN, TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF MY MONEY AND OFF MY
PROPERTY. Ministering spirits (angels), GO! Cause all that’s mine in the kingdom of God to
come into my hands, now! I declare THE BLESSING of the Lord, THE SHIELD OF GRACE up
around all that’s mine!”
In conclusion, when you learn how to use your spiritual authority in any situation, nothing will be
impossible for you! You’ll be operating in the position of dominion God intended from the beginning.
God did not create you to be a victim—you were made to WIN!

Here is a prayer of protection against school shootings you can pray in faith.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of education. I thank You that our children have
the privilege and right to develop their minds and grow in knowledge for the good and strength of the
Kingdom on this earth and to do so safely.

Lord, we know it is NEVER Your will that bullying, violence or shootings take place in a school or
anywhere else. We recognize and acknowledge the work of the enemy and come to You in
obedience to Your Word to take authority over the forces of evil that would make any attempt against
our children while they are in school.

I thank You that Your Word promises divine protection for my children, and I declare that no evil will
come near my children or their schools in the Name of Jesus. I curse any evil plots at the root right
now in Jesus’ Name. I declare that no weapon formed against our schools will prosper. Every evil
plan that is in the dark will be brought into the light and halted. I bind Satan and his demons in the
Name of Jesus and command them to flee from our schools in Jesus’ Name.

I thank You that Your angels surround my children, taking charge over them and protecting them
from danger of any kind.

I speak life, truth, safety and protection over every child at this school. I plead the blood of Jesus
over my children and their schools—every building they walk into, and every vehicle they ride in. I
declare that no evil will come near them.

I thank You, Father, that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER. I rebuke the spirit of
fear in Jesus’ Name and loose a spirit of power over this school. I thank You and praise You for Your
goodness, Your mercy and Your grace. Thank You that as I have applied the blood of Jesus on the
doorposts of this school, nothing shall be able to harm it.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

When you pray this prayer in faith—not doubting—you can have peace that your children are under
a covering of protection that cannot be touched by the enemy. Continue in the good fight of faith.
Keep praying and interceding for our schools. Let the enemy know one thing is sure—he can’t have
our children. Remind him that he has no authority—we have the authority through the blood and the
Name above all names—the Name of Jesus. Glory to God!

7 Strategies for Building a Psalm 91 House

October 9, 2017
When you first move into a home, great care is taken to
situate the furniture, hang family pictures on the walls, and
decorate each room. A house becomes a home with time and
love invested into establishing a comfortable space.
But what about the spiritual side of your home? Does being a Christian mean your home will
automatically be blessed and protected? Unfortunately, the answer is no. So, what can you do to
ensure your home is a safe place for your family? You go to God’s promises in His Word.
Promises of protection abound throughout the Bible, but there is one place where you can find all of
them gathered together in a single, power-packed passage—and that’s in Psalm 91. Psalm 91 is
God’s covenant for divine protection. It covers every danger—sickness, disease, assault, crime,
tornadoes, fire and any other threat to your safety and well-being.
The good news is you can live in a fortress of Psalm 91 protection and create an environment in
your home that makes the devil flee. But like any of the promises of God, you have a responsibility to
receive the promises of Psalm 91 by faith.
Below are seven faith strategies for Building a Psalm 91 house.

1. Fill Your Atmosphere

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” –Psalm
91:1
We live in two atmospheres—one is physical and the other spiritual. An atmosphere is defined as “a
pervading or surrounding influence or spirit, general mood or environment.” In Genesis 1, the earth’s
atmosphere was dark and empty—until God spoke. It didn’t automatically take on the spiritual
atmosphere of God—He had to fill the atmosphere with what He wanted to occupy that space.
The same is true for us. We have a spiritual atmosphere in our homes that we can energize with the
power of the Holy Spirit, or leave blank for anything or anyone to permeate. The latter is much too
dangerous. If we fail to play offense, we’ll end up playing defense and wearing ourselves down with
unnecessary trials.
How can you fill your atmosphere? Try these simple, but powerful, ideas at home:

 Load an MP3 player with the entire Bible. Connect it to small desktop speakers and place it
in the main living space of your home. Set it to ‘repeat’ and let it run on low volume 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, the Word of God
is being spoken into the atmosphere of your home!
 Turn on the Believer’s Voice of Victory Network (BVOVN) and let it play in your home. Click
here for ways to access BVOVN.
 Play worship music softly throughout the day.
 Speak the Word of God out loud as you go about your daily tasks.

2. Protect Your Atmosphere

“He is my refuge and my fortress….” –Psalm 91:2, NKJV
Romans 12:2 tells us not to be conformed to this world and its ways. Media choices like television
shows, movies and music that promote fear, worry, infidelity, divorce, anger and sexual immorality
oppose the Word of God and weaken the protection around you, your home and your family.
When you take refuge in God, you remove yourself from the influence of those things that are not of
God—the voice of the world. Ask God, according to Psalm 119:37, to turn your eyes from worthless
things and help you purge your atmosphere of all that is not of Him.

3. Deal With Wrong Spirits Immediately

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him…” Psalm 91:14, NKJV

Have you ever walked into a room and felt tension so thick, you wanted to run the other way? A
wrong spirit was most certainly to blame. James 3:16 says, “For where envy and self-
seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there” (NKJV).

When you set your love upon the Lord, you will desire to love others as He loves them, but if you
step out of love, you are stepping into Satan’s territory. Strife, unforgiveness, rebellion and pride are
all tools the devil uses to come into your home and stir up trouble. His purpose? To divide and
destroy your home.
It can be very costly to allow the “luxury” of a few quarrels or to permit your children to rebel and talk
back to you, because when you do, you are inviting a wrong spirit to operate in your home. On the
other hand, the power of agreement is a supernatural, miracle-working power!
So, determine to stop any attitudes or situations that cause destruction. When any wrong spirit tries
to take up residence in your home, deal with it immediately. Say, “Spirit of strife, unforgiveness, pride
and rebellion, get out of my home in the Name of Jesus!”

4. Anoint Your Home with Oil

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near
you.” –Psalm 91:7, NKJV

The world around you—even fellow believers—seem to struggle with constant sickness and tragedy.
But under God’s promise of protection, those evils will not touch you. When you stand in faith for
Psalm 91 protection, you will see those around you falling, but that evil won’t come near you.
One way to appropriate your faith for supernatural protection is to anoint your home with oil. Oil
represents the power of the Holy Spirit and is a symbol of faith in God’s ability to cleanse and make
holy. It is an act of consecrating your home to Him.
To do this, anoint the frame of every door in your home. As you do, pray and invite the Holy Spirit to
fill every inch of your home in every room. Pray that only His will be done and that everything that is
said and done in your home will be pleasing to Him.
“And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” –Isaiah 10:27, NKJV
5. Draw a Blood Line
“No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.” –Psalm 91:10
There is power in the blood of Jesus! In 1 Peter 1:18-19, we are told that we were redeemed from
the curse with the precious blood of Christ. So, when the devil tries to nose his way into our lives, we
overcome him by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11).
How do we use the blood? In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, “I have given you authority over all the power
of the enemy.” So, we plead the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over our families, our
property and our possessions.
A minister and his wife were conducting meetings in a large church that was having a great impact
on the kingdom of God. The devil had become infuriated at the success of the meetings, so he told
the minister he had put rabies on the foxes in the woods adjoining their property and intended to kill
his children.
The minister said, “Devil, you are a liar! You can’t kill my children.” Immediately, he went home and
gathered in agreement with other believers. They agreed in prayer and by faith drew a blood line of
protection around the property.
A week later, lying on the boundary of his land, were five dead foxes. They had dropped dead when
they tried to cross the blood line!
In prayer and faith, you can plead the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and draw a blood line around
your property, your vehicles, your children’s schools and your workplace.

6. Dispatch Your Angels

“He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.” –Psalm 91:11
Did you know that one of the ways God carries out your deliverance and your protection is through
angels? You literally have angels at your service.
You could hire a hundred natural men for your security, but they would be limited by natural things.
Not so with angels. Angels operate under the authority of Jesus (1 Peter 3:22), and one of their jobs
is ministering to believers. They are real. They are powerful. And if you are a believer, they are a
vital part of your life.
So, dispatch angels around you, your family members, your home, your vehicles and any building
you walk into. Say, “Ministering angels, I send you forth to protect my family according to Psalm 91.”
Then, expect it!

7. Pray and Speak the Word

“His truth shall be your shield….” Psalm 91:4, NKJV
The Word of God is a weapon, a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), so when we pray the Word, we
pray right on target.
How can you pray for protection? Pray Psalm 91 over your home and family. Commit it to memory,
and make it a part of your heart and spirit. Hang a copy somewhere in your home as a reminder of
God’s promise of protection. You can even pray something as simple as, “I pray Psalm 91 protection
over my home and family today.”
Put these seven strategies to work in your life and home, and watch the power of Psalm 91 build a
fortress of protection that cannot be touched! The Word of God is a powerful force, and the devil is
no match for it! God’s Word always produces fruit and accomplishes everything it says (Isaiah
55:11). Trust in God and rest in the protection and blessing only He can provide!
