ABSTRACT:
This thesis aims to regulate the voltage supply to load from a single source. So, converters
are needed to regulate (either stepping up or stepping down) the given voltage to satisfy the demand.
As they can’t supply continuously, dual input sources are given to input switches of converter. The
renewable energy sources are chosen to get the eco-friendly power production. The designed
converter not only harvest energy from energy sources but it allows the single source to fed-up the
load.
The power electronics system supplies the load based on dual input of solar panel and battery energy
source. The insufficiency in energy supply and effective operation by renewable energy sources lead
to development of triple input converters.

ABSTRACT:
Electric vehicle is one of the most developing technologies in recent days. Advancements in
batteries, concerns about increasing fuel prices, higher emission and the desire to protect greenhouse
effect leads to the promotion of electric vehicles.
The Claw Pole Machine is a potential drive for automobile applications. The main objective of this
project is to design a Claw Pole Machine for Electric Vehicle. It is a novel design to provide solution
for electric traction in four wheeler which replace the conventional gasoline engine. Claw pole
machine have its own advantages which can produce number of poles with a single solenoid coil
excitation. Going for more number of slots with rectangular conductor design leads to higher system
efficiency and safer current density. Operating with higher voltage increases the system efficiency
than lesser voltages and we prefer here 48V system. Claw pole machine is capable of producing the
required torque, maximum power, high speed and better efficiency with 48V system.
It can be operated in two modes, motoring mode and regeneration mode with the help of FOC
algorithm. Promising designs were simulated using MAGNET (a Finite element electromagnetic
analysis tool) software to verify the performance. While simulating in Magnet, static 3D simulations
were performed initially and later, to get finer results, FOC simulation were performed.

ABSTRACT:
The Z-source inverter (ZSI) employs an LC impedance network between the main inverter
bridge and the power source. The unique feature of the ZSI is that it can operate either in buck or
boost mode with a wide range of obtainable output voltages from a given input voltage. This topology
also exhibits better electromagnetic-interference noise immunity when compared to a traditional
voltage-source inverter (VSI). However, the LC impedance network of ZSI significantly increases the
size and cost of the power converter and can make it unsuitable for low-power applications. This
paper proposes a novel topology called switched boost inverter (SBI) which exhibits similar
advantages of ZSI with lower number of passive components and more active components compared
to ZSI. The steady-state analyses of SBI, along with its pulse width modulation (PWM) control
strategies, have been developed in this paper. This paper also presents a comparison of SBI and ZSI
with the same input and output parameters. All the simulation works is carried out in
MATLAB/SIMULINK and the inverter’s output voltage with the proposed PWM technique and
compared with that of a traditional VSI.

In traditional methods, coir industries are using heavy vehicles such as tractor to dry the coir
obtained from coconut. These heavy vehicles consume more fuel and it requires skilled personnel to
operate the machine. These problems will be overcome by our project, which provides economically
viable solution for the problems faced in the coir industries. Small scale industries cannot afford
heavy vehicles and employ labors to stir the coir fibers by their hands which may cause health
disorders to them. The coir field rover is a small vehicle which is operated by electric motors. These
motors are energized by battery. The traction of the rover and rotary rotation are controlled using
Arduino - Bluetooth interface. The rotary rotating blades will be rotated at high speed, which will stir

ABSTRACT:
The transformer is a device which is used to higher or lower voltages and currents in an
electrical circuit. In recent electrical power distribution systems, transformers are used to boost
voltage levels so as to decrease line losses during transmission. For insulation and cooling of power
transformers, various oils are used. Mineral oils have wide availability and low cost. However, they
have a poor biodegradability potential and lower fire point in comparison with other insulating
liquids. Use of an oil having high biodegradability is important due to environmental consideration
.Antioxidants are components which impede auto-oxidation of oils and fats by giving their hydrogen
to free radicals formed in the initiation and propagation stages of anti oxidation. Antioxidants (BHA,
BHT) are added to vegetable oils for improving their insulation feature and to reduce its ageing for
better performance.

ABSTRACT:
This machine comprise of both electrical as well as mechanical parts. This machine is used to
print the serial numbers and barcodes in the sticker labels. This paper comprises of design and full
working of the machine. Three phase induction motor with variable frequency drive is used in this
machine. With the help of variable frequency drive, speed of the motor is adjusted easily. Unprinted
label roll is placed in one side of the machine. The motor pulls the label roll and after crossing the
printer unit the printed labels are winding and placed into the other side of the machine. So speed
variation of the motor plays major role in the machine. This machine is also embedded with sensors,
so it will easily count how many labels are printed and also the length of label roll in meters. Manual
counting of labels takes time consumption and error may occur. It is possible for winding the labels in
both forward and reverse direction. These numbering barcode stickers are easy for usage and they
are very accurate and durable.

ABSTRACT:
This paper presents a fault tolerant system for solar fed cascaded multilevel inverter. The
main aim of the proposed system is to deliver power from source to load even under faulty condition
and during partial shaded condition. Conventional two level inverters are most commonly used in PV
systems but these inverters provide output with harmonic content. In this topology, a cascaded
multilevel inverter is connected across the solar panels and batteries. This inverter set up reduces
harmonic distortion and filter requirements effectively. This proposed system can tolerate system
faults due to switches, panel, batteries and inverter failure. The simulation is carried out in MATLAB
R3013a. The simulation and experimental results of the laboratory prototype is discussed in this
paper. The simulation result of the proposed model is compared with the conventional system.

ABSTRACT:
Passive movement physiotherapy is a very powerful rehabilitation method for stroke victims.
Stroke victims might be afflicted by hemiparesis or spastic hemiplegia; weakness present only on one
side of the body. If left untreated this causes muscle contracture, shortening of the muscle fibres and
tissues which causes pain and complete loss of strength in the muscles. To prevent this from
happening, the patients are advised to go for passive movement physiotherapy. Passive movements
are those which are induced by an external agent to the muscle because of the inability of the muscle
to do so by itself. The conventional methods require the presence of a very skilled therapist who has to
administer this treatment. The driving vision behind our project is to provide an adjustable robotic
rehabilitation method for the victims of a stroke attack to prevent the dangerous effects of hemiparesis
by making away with the obstacles present in the path to successful implementation. The main target
of this setup is the hemiparesis in the lower limbs of the human body. This is achieved by using flex
sensors attached to the healthy limb which provide the inputs necessary for the ARM 7 controller. The
output of the flex sensor is used to determine the movement and position of the limb so that the
afflicted limb will mirror those movements with the help of a motor and gear system attached to the
main joints of the limb.

DETECTION OF TRAFFIC NODES USING OSM AND

CONTROL OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS FOR EASY
MOBILIZATION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES
ABSTRACT:
In the recent era of fast moving world, mainly in large cities, many services get delayed due
to traffic problems and congestions. Due to the rapid increase in vehicles, the traffic problems have
increased in the last few years. As a result, emergency services like ambulance service are often
getting delayed. Optimum utilization of the time after an accident is actually the golden hour. The
crucial issue is the smooth motion of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, rescue vehicles, fire
brigade, and police through the intersection of traffic during peak hours. In the proposed work, the
ambulance once after reaching the accident spot decides the route to hospital based on the traffic
signals in its path of travel using Open Street Map (OSM). At the same time, the control of traffic
lights is enabled from the ambulance itself before few meters distance, so that clearance in path is
achieved. Open Street Map (OSM) is an open source tool employed in this project that gives the
geographic information as primary data. The data obtained from OSM gives the information of the
traffic nodes in the path of the ambulance. This information is fed to the PIC microcontroller that
activates the traffic signals at a distance of 100m in the traffic lane using RFID. Thus the key aspect
behind the proposed work is to provide a smooth flow for the emergency vehicles like ambulance to
reach the hospitals in time by directing the driver through the path with least traffic and activating
signals from the emergency vehicle itself, thus minimizing the delay caused by traffic congestion.

ABSTRACT:
High frequency quasi-resonant converters have recently gained popularity because they offer
many advantages over phase controlled converters, dc choppers and PWM converters. The project
deals with the analysis, simulation and implementation of a dc drive fed from a step down frequency
modulated zero current switching quasi-resonant converter (FM-ZCS-QRC). The simulation of FM-
ZCS-QRC fed dc drive is presented. Quasi-resonant converters employ soft switching wherein the
devices are switched either at zero current or zero voltage so that the switching losses are zero,
ideally.
A parallel resonant QRC is used for the speed control of a dc motor. In this frequency
modulated zero current switching quasi-resonant converter, the output of QRC is regulated by varying
the switching frequency of the converter.
The performance of the QRC fed dc motor is studied. The resonant converter and the drive
system are modeled suitably such that the facilities of a general-purpose electronic circuit analysis
program (PSPICE) can be extended to simulate electromechanical energy conversion and drive
control. A micro controller based system is used for controlling the drive speed and the results are
simulated using PSPICE.

ABSTRACT:
The electrical substation which supply the power to the consumers, have failures due to some
faults which can be temporary or permanent. These faults lead to substantial damage to the power
system equipment. In India it is common, the faults might be LG (Line to Ground), LL (Line to Line),
3L (Three lines) in the supply systems and these faults in three phase supply system can affect the
power system. To overcome this problem a system is built, which can sense these faults and
automatically disconnects the supply to avoid large scale damage to the control gears in the grid sub-
stations. The project develops an automatic tripping mechanism for the three-phase transmission
system. In the event of a temporary fault, the output of the project resets while it acquires permanent
trip condition in case of a permanent fault. Line), 3L (Three lines). The system automatically
differentiates between a temporary disturbance and a permanent fault and appropriately cuts the
supply for a short duration or long respectively.

ABSTRACT:
This Paper explains about how to overcome the difficulties of multiple BLDC motor without
using a conveyor belt. Generally in industry all the motors are connected in the form of conveyor belt
so that the speed of the motor will be same to produce a desired output. But if in some case, if any of
the one motor gets damaged all the motor connected through conveyor belt can also get damaged, so
that all the motors will stop at a time and there will be huge loss by time, money and work, etc.,To
succeed in dealing with, we use synchronizing method to control the speed of all motors.

ABSTRACT:
In this paper a multi input step up single phase inverter based on SDCVA is proposed. The
topology consist of two DC inputs, serial SDCVA based converter and an H bridge inverter.
Compared to other conventional single phase inverters, the proposed topology can realize high step-
up output voltage, simple structure and reduced components. A current controller is designed to
eliminate the harmonics in the current injected into the grid and to regulate the power exchange
between the plant and the grid. In Model predictive current control (MPC), single phase multilevel
inverter system with inductive load is modeled to predict the system behavior and to optimize the
predictions to get better results. The performance of the proposed control strategy is compared with
the classical hysteresis and linear PWM control techniques and the results proved that the proposed
controller controls the load current effectively and is simple to implement on a DSP. The proposed
predictive control strategy gives better performance by incorporating several control objectives in
one single cost function. MPC techniques mitigate the harmonics in the output voltage waveform of
the proposed inverter topology. A load current observer is also used to estimate the load current
thereby eliminating the current sensor. This inverter topology with proposed current controller offers
advantages such as better quality output voltage waveforms and low total harmonic distortion.
Simulation results confirm the aforementioned features of the proposed inverter. The fast dynamic
response of the MPC based voltage controller is validated by hardware implementation.
