The first impression of this restaurant is of the gorgeous hanging ivy which falls down the side of
the building. The restaurant is in the cool neighborhood of Monti and is popular with locals and
tourists. The food is amazing with many classic Italian dishes. Spoil yourself with a chocolate and
ricotta pie covered in chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

On a quiet street off Piazza del Popolo is this hidden gem. If you want to try real Roman cooking
like gnocchi fatti. Many of the raw ingredients are grown on the restaurant owner's farm and he is
very passionate about the food. The owner often comes out front and chats with diners.
Considering the quality of the food prices are fitting.

You'll be blown away by the service and the food. The impressive dishes include classic Italian
fare like pizza, gnocchi, focaccia, ferrucini al sugo and some other Mediterranean classics like
Sardinian couscous and Spanish paella. The house wine is good enough so that you can save on
getting a more expensive bottle. They also do take-away.

This is a trendy restaurant in the trendy neighborhood of Trastevere with a buzzing atmosphere,
moderately prices and outstanding food. On the menu are classics like Italian rice balls, Roman
artichokes and of course pizza. Their cocktails pack some punch and there is a mouthwatering
dessert menu.
This place is far enough away from the tourist crowds to be authentic. It is a small establishment
with lots of character and friendly staff. The food is excellent with classic favorites like veal
spaghetti, gnocchi with clams, pasta carbonara and fried artichokes. Good food and good wine!

This is a family-run restaurant where the mother makes the food. The dishes are standard classics
for Rome like tagliatelle Bolognese, fried veal and for dessert tiramisu. The caramel and walnut
torte is mouthwatering. They make good use of fresh vegetables like in the pumpkin ravioli. This
place can't be beaten for homemade-style Italian cooking.

This restaurant consistently turns out quality traditional Italian cuisine. It is a family-run
establishment which is very popular and fills up fast so try to make a reservation. Favorite dishes
include carciofo alla giudia abbacchio and carbonara. Ask about the daily specials.

The food here is fresh tasting and classic; the meal begins with the restaurant's bread with olive oil
and black pepper. The menu includes an impressive fettuccine with truffles and bacon, octopus
Carpaccio and for dessert try the pistachio tiramisu. This is an authentic hole-in-the-wall Italian
eatery where you're likely to see people lining up outside waiting to get in.

prices and delicious ice-cream and frozen yoghurt. They even offer a gluten-free option. The
service is quick and pleasant. Among the regular flavors are a few standout gelatos like the basil,
honey and walnuts lemon curd, watermelon or the Syrian pistachio.

Here you can get the true Roman fast-food experience with a real classic Italian fast-food - fried
cod. People line up for this treat and it can be easily taken away and eaten as you walk around.
There are other things on the menu if you are planning to sit down but otherwise it is a
meal-on-the-go, hot, delicious fried fish-the Italian version of British fish and chips! The local eatery
shot to fame when it was recommended by Anthony Bourdain.

place on a quiet street which dishes up both regular and more unusual flavors like honeycomb,
ginger and passion fruit. The best part is that they cover your gelato with chocolate sauce.

This is a small, and often crowded eatery which serves up no-nonsense real Roman cuisine. You
can have a family-style Italian meal here for a reasonable price. The dishes are excellent and there
is plenty of wine to choose from. A generous bowl of parmesan is placed on the table so you can
add as much as you like to your dish.

Great to find down-to-earth Roman food within the tourists' reach but still frequented by locals. The
food is standard Italian with an emphasis on seafood and there are vegan options. The star of this
restaurant is the friendly service and the ideal location next to the Trevi Fountain. Not only that but
there are English menus and free WiFi (which you must sign-in for).

Wow, this place is worth splurging - fine dining at its best! You have to book ahead to get into this
3 star Michelin restaurant which is located on the top floor of the Waldorf Astoria. What views! It s
a formal setting (men must wear jackets). The menu is extensive with cuisine from around the
world. Delicious, top quality in every way but be warned it is not cheap. The pre-set Chef's Menu
has 10 courses for €230.

It is worth waiting in line at this place! It will be the best prosciutto you've ever had. They sell
sandwiches but the stars of this place are the platters. You order a platter according to your
preference - meat, vegetable cheese or a mix and get presented with the most scrumptious
looking (and tasting) wooden board covered with mouthwatering delights. Gorgonzola truffle
spread, charcuterie, smoked ham, salami, sundried tomatoes blue cheese, grilled vegetables and
real balsamic - outstanding!

Tangy spreads, flavorsome cheeses, olives, meat and balsamic - wow - Italy on a plate. There is
no table service here but like other brunches of La Prosciutteria you order from the counter,
choose your preference and get presented with a mouthwatering platter of cheese, meat and veg.

This small, intimate restaurant caters to locals and can get very busy. Their service is up-beat and
friendly. The food is classic Italian cuisine like prosciutto de Parma con mozzarella di bufala,

This classy but casual restaurant is close to the Spanish Steps. There is a fine dining atmosphere
but at the same time friendly and down to earth. The service is efficient and speedy. You'll get
complementary bread, mozzarella and sundried tomatoes with your appetizer. The seafood is
delicious, many dishes have the addition of truffle which just takes it up a level and there are
perfect Italian dishes like lasagna and ravioli. even the desserts are classic and mouthwatering.

This restaurant is amazing - amazing service, food and atmosphere. Delicious, sophisticated
dishes served with much thought. Try the zucchini cake with alfredo or the cacio y pepe with black
truffle or swordfish. The classic dishes are given modern twists and there is a great wine selection.
You can watch the kitchen through a glass panel in the main dining room and there is also outdoor
seating. Bellisimo!

Truffles cover many of the dishes on this menu. Customers feel welcomed as the Chef even
comes out the kitchen and chats with each table. The dishes are authentic and created with
artistry. There is the fettuccine with black truffle and porcini mushrooms; the bruschetta with black
truffle and pecorino and the lasagna with black mushrooms and porcini. An unbelievable dining
experience and not expensive for what you get.
Affordable, delicious sandwiches close to the Colosseum. Try the mouthwatering porchetta,
sundried tomatoes and mustard sandwich. It is a small eatery, with no sitting room but there is a
park nearby where you could sit. The service is friendly and the owner speaks English. For these
large, delicious sandwiches you'll pay €6-8.

For a decent sized portion of fresh pasta you pay only about €5. The pasta is handmade in the
shop and topped with delicious flavors like Bolognese or red pesto. It is hard to beat the value for
money at this place and the price is the same if you sit or take-away. Great concept - try the
gnocchi!

Simple good tasting pasta by the Vatican. People wait in line to get their food here and for good
reason. The pasta is freshly made on the premises and for this kind of quality you can't beat the
price of €5-7. The staff are friendly and most customers take their food to go but there are a few
seats inside where you're served on paper plates with plastic utensils - but for that price and all
that flavor who cares!

This is a tiny place with no seating and it is always crowded with locals and tourists who have
discovered it. They change the kind of pizza available depending on what ingredients they have
but it is all delicious like the pumpkin cream prosciutto pizza. Other combos include the chili and
onion or the artichoke and sausage. The pizza is made fresh when you order so it is always
straight from the oven. The service is friendly and quick while the prices are spot on.

Crowds of locals come here to get the chocolate shots at the bar. In fact the place doubles as a
bookstore and bar serving alcohol and chocolate shots topped with whipped cream. Perfect to end
or start an evening in Rome. Excellent service and lots of fun the way the shots are served.

Cheap and tasty best describes this place. Real Italian pizza and a few other Italian favorites like
lasagna and pasta. The atmosphere is casual and nothing fancy but the food is all freshly made to
order and you can watch it being prepared. There is seating room and everyone is friendly.

relaxed and there is romantic music in the background. The portions are quite small but there is an

Your taste buds will be seduced by the flavors at Sophia. Simply amazing classic and less-classic
Italian dishes are served in a modern yet warm environment. It is non-touristy and a real gem. The
restaurant is run by a husband and wife and the staff are friendly; it is surprisingly kid-friendly for
such a classy place.
Wow, if you want to eat in a place with real character and history this is for you. The building is one
of the oldest in Rome and if you go down to the wine cellar you'll feel transported back in time. The
ambiance is comfortable, welcoming, intimate and relaxed. You'll get more than the standard pizza
and pasta here. Choose from dishes like chicken liver pate, pork shoulder, steak and of course the
usual Italian fare.

This is a truly authentic Italian eatery with only a few tables and mostly local clientele. The prices
are super cheap for the quality of food you get. There is no menu but the friendly staff tell you what
is on offer that day. There are no desserts but you are given cookies to dip in red wine at the end
of the meal. A wonderful, authentic Italian experience.
