D APS, PCAA
The purpose of this post is to guide candidates who want to appear in the test of AD
APS. I will try to cover all the areas and make the post informative as much as I can.
These positions along with many others were advertised in Nov 2018. Test was
conducted on 21st of April by NTS, interviews of shortlisted candidates were held from
21st to 23rd of May.
With regards to test composition, it had the following sections:
Short Business Proposal questions 25
Reading Comprehension, Critical reasoning, sentence correction 15
Analytical reasoning 5
IQ (Quantitative) 10
Principles of management 15
General Knowledge 20
customer orientation (Hospital, hotel and airport management) 10
***NOTE: This was test composition in our test. This time it can be changed or it may
remain the same. I am just sharing my test experience. All of you prepare accordingly.

*Short Business Proposal:

It was the toughest portion of the test. Many were unable to even understand the
questions. So focus on it and prepare it well.
Understand the broader concept; take help from internet and you tube. Once you
understand the concept find and solve as much mcqs as you can. The more you
practice mcqs the more your chances to score higher.
Questions from our test are as follows:
1) which data is MOST appropriate for the appendix of a report rather than the body?
2) In a report feasibility section of proposal will include, to get answer to your question?
What are financial issues, what organization problem exists, who in organization has the
power to implement recommendation, are you sure solution is available in the given
time something like this.
3) Which is Not the reason for a negative message in a proposal
4) What makes it likely that viewers will read your report? Reduce size, replication,
Prepositions, topic sentences
*Reading Comprehension, Critical reasoning, sentence
correction.
It’s very basic and one easily get higher score here depending how much English he
has learnt over the years. Reading comprehension can be improved by practice.

*Analytical reasoning
some finds it difficult while others find it easy. Anyway, if you have issue in doing such
questions, practice more such questions from internet or from any intelligence test book.

* Principles of management
Pick up any book of management, or use internet, Google and you tube. Once you
understand the basics then solve mcqs on internet, it will make your life easier. This
portion will be relatively easy for those having management studies background.
Questions from our test are as follow:
1) Which is not an interpersonal role according to Mintzberg? Spoke person, leader,
figurehead, liaison
2) Who will do what is called? Organizing, Managing, leading and controlling.
*General Knowledge
It’s scope very broad. Anything can be part of this portion. So, the more your general
knowledge is the more will you score in this section. In our test most of the questions
were from current affairs questions.

4) First country to launch 5th generation services
5) Which country recently joined China in one belt one road initiative?

9) happiest country of world
*Customer orientation (Hospital, hotel and airport management)
Most of the questions were from hotel management.
Previously, I never studied this topic so it was new to me. I took help from internet.
Questions from our test are as follows:
1) Hotels on highway are?
2) Hotels with one owner and then another owner after a year or so
3) Which Hotels practice marketing, follow SOPS etc.
4) How many stars hotel provide basic furniture, bed?
Lastly, I will say that please build a strong bond with ALLAH. Offer Salah 5 times a day
and do recitation of Holy Quran. Ask ALLAH from the core of your heart to give you
whatever you need. Believe me ALLAH gives whatever we ask but at the right time.
Here are a few questions that I can recall from today's test of
Assistant Director Airport Services:

1. Correct sequence: Planning, execution, control.

2. Appendix of a report
(A) quarter page data table
(B) conclusion of research
(C) information crucial to proof
(D) copy of survey you administered.

3. 12*1/2 % is to 1/8 as (100% is to 1 is correct, I checked all

other options).

4. All but 2 died. Answer is 2.

5. Which choice mentions last letter of the word rearranged from

the jumbled spelling. (Word was Brush so answer is H)

past has been Stable. That's what I chose.

for a different viewer is which error. Quality bad. Typographical
error. Not intended person. All.
