Monarchy political system means power to govern is inherited in the family. Unlike absolute
monarchs, limited monarchs are not considered to be above the law as rulers rely on people with
power to maintain their throne. Monarchy is practiced in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain and
the Netherlands. Next, authoritarianism. It is a regime in which the rulers are individuals who deny
popular participation in the government. Pure dictatorships in authoritarianism are rare because
rulers need military and elites to support them so they can retain their position. Authoritarianism
exists in in Fidel Castro's Cuba and in the People's Republic of China.. Last but not least,
totalitarianism, a political system in which the state seeks to regulate their people's public and
private lives. Totalitarian governments prevent the public from being rebellious by imposing
conformity. One example of a totalitarian regime was the National Socialist (Nazi) Party in
Germany during World War II.
