Architectural education, as one of the distinctive branches of education, requires the

development of creative capabilities. The primary concern of architects is to design three

dimensional space and form to accommodate related human activities. Like other types of
education, architectural education conveys, conserves, and transmits the values of the
profession and society at large. Debates on education confirm that the mission of
architectural and design pedagogy should create an environment that nurtures exploration,
enlightenment and critical thinking among all students.

Inquiry, investigation, and discovery are now viewed as activities central to architectural
programs.
