Ladies and gentlemen,
In this good occasion, I’d like to deliver a speech with a title, ” How to prevent the power
of K-Pop for Indonesian youngsters”
Ladies and gentlemen,
Nowadays, K-pop has become a huge phenomenon in many countries including
Indonesia. Through K-pop boy or girl bands like Super Junior or SUJU, Bing Bang,
Sinhwa, 2ne1 and the others, K-pop has become a very popular music in Indonesia. For
Indonesian youngsters, K-pop finally has become a part of their life. It can be seen
that every K-pop concert held in Indonesia always reaches a great success. It’s proven
the K-pop show tickets which are always sold out. It exceeds the target of Indonesian
music concerts held in this country. Wow, it’s amazing ladies and gentlemen.
From the fact, K-pop music has special place for our youngsters’ heart. Well, actually it’s
okay if they take it as their favorite music normally. But the problem at this time is that
they are so fanatic with the K-pop that finally their sense spreads to love the Korean
cultures and products rather then their own cultures. Just see the reality, many youngsters
in our country are more proud of imitating Korean hair style, wearing Korean fashion,
learning Korean language, or even consuming Korean foods. In such condition, a big
chance is used by business actors to earn bucks in this country by selling Korean
accessories, clothes or foods. Besides, Korean language started to open in many places
in Indonesia. One more thing, Korean restaurants have been developed in many places
to satisfy the youngsters’ will. With this facilities, our youngsters feel that everything with
“Korean taste” gets closer to them. Consequently, they prefer Korean’s products to their
own country’s ones. In their craziness of K-Pop, everything with “Korean taste” is more
interesting than the others available in this country in their eyes. In this case, they start
forgetting Indonesian cultures or products.
Ladies and gentlemen
Besides, K-pop makes our youngsters forget their own country’s music. As the effect of
k-pop existence, they tend to listen to Korean song. They feel very proud of singing the
songs rather than Indonesian ones. Consequently, Indonesian music progress are left
behind the other countries’ ones. According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative
Economy Mari Elka Pangestu, Indonesian music industry`s contribution to foreign
exchange is relatively small, at only 0.73 percent. In fact, in the previous years,`
evaluation indicated that the number of domestic music listeners had reached 80
percents. The domestic music industry is being threatened by the entry of K-pop.
Seeing the phenomenon, What can we do ladies and gentlemen?
Well, to prevent the spread of such exaggerated manners done by our youngsters , let
me deliver my solutions
1. Loving “Indonesian taste” should be implanted to our youngsters. It can be started from
the little thing, that is, family. Then, it must be supported by formal education or school
and environment. The awareness of loving Indonesia will prevent our youngsters to love
the other countries’ properties, like cultures, products and the other things. Our
youngsters should realize that they have everything cool here and various kinds of unique
or interesting things can be found here.
2. To make Indonesian youngsters love Indonesian music, domestic musicians, song
writers and the music industry must do something important in this country to compete
against K-Pop, perhaps by creating Indonesian pop or “I-pop”. To make I-pop interesting
for youngsters, it should be supported by qualified singers, boy or girl bands with
Indonesian-oriented styles. To support this, mass media should be involved to promote
the existence of I-pop in this country. It’s expected that I-pop will be known and loved by
our youngsters or even the people in other countries.
Ladies and gentlemen,
To close my speech, as a good Indonesian generation, “Let’s love our country, Indonesia.
Love what is inside Indonesia. Great things can be found in Indonesia, like cultures,
products, music, and the others. Let’s say “Indonesia is our everything”. For the other
country, just take it as references for coloring our life not more than a part of our blood.

HOW TO PROTECT INDONESIAN CHILDREN FROM DRUGS

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s a great pleasure for me to stand here for joining this speech contest. In this good
occasion, I’d like to deliver a speech with a title “How to protect Indonesian children from
drugs?”
Ladies and gentlemen,
First of all, let me show you something.
Please, have a look what I’m holding now. What is this? Yes right, it’s candy.
Well, I think everybody including a little child knows this little thing
How’s the taste? Yes, right. Sweet, nice, yummy, spicy.
There are various kinds of taste that make us like them
Ladies and gentlemen, relating to this, have you ever thought that the nice candy contains
drugs inside? Surprised?
Well, In Mumbai, It’s reported that strawberry-flavored candies sold at elementary schools
or the kid school can change the students’ habit. Besides temporarily improving alertness,
concentration and self-esteem, it also boosts libido. Some students use it during
examinations to improve their concentration, but end up becoming addicts. As the result
of a research, this addiction can happen because drug substances are put into the
candies. Wow, it’s really surprising, right? Drug dealers have camouflaged the drugs as
candies with strawberry, chocolate or cola flavors among the kids or children. Just
imagine if this reality also happens to the children in our country. Naudhubillahi mindalik.
We don’t want this terrible even happen, right? So, how to protect Indonesian children
from such dangerous drugs, ladies and gentlemen?
Well, Love -Patience- Trust and a friendly understanding are the clues to save children
from the dangers that prevail outside and nearby. Those things can be obtained from
family or home, school, and environment.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good atmosphere at home is really needed to realize this. Strong Family unit should be
built up between parents and children. Here, communication among family members is
essential to keep the children away from the polluted environment and negative forces
outside the homes. For example, while having meal or watching television together,
parents can use their time for understanding their children’s problems. At that moment,
Parents could be close friends in front of them so they will be able to express whatever
they experience in their life openly. Indirectly, parents could monitor or control what and
how their children do or with whom they get along out there. If the relationship are
maintained well, of course, the children will not look for another comfort from another
environment especially the bad one.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Besides , good atmosphere at school also protects children from drugs. The actors
playing the main role here are teachers and developmental programs at school. Besides
teaching materials, teachers also have duties as co –parents, educating students to do
the proper things like never touching and consuming drugs. Of course, this duty is not
only imposed for the religion and moral science teachers, whoever the teachers are, they
should join school for drugs prevention or drug expansion eradication. While teaching,
it’s very essential to inculcate religion with aims to improve personalities and to make
them stronger. With the strong faith, they will be far from bad things, like drugs.
The last thing, a good society atmosphere also gives the good impacts of conducive
environment for youngster. Positive activities held by society can also be an effective way
to avoid doing negative things like gathering with friends for drugs party .
Ladies and gentlemen,
For closing, let me take the conclusion of my speech. To protect children from drugs “Love
-Patience- Trust and a friendly understanding” should be obtained from home or family,
school, or society.

In this great occasion, let me deliver a speech with a subject “The impacts Of Facebook for
teenagers’life“.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Facebook is one of social networking communications mushroming in almost of countries in

this world including Indonesia. Based on the reliable survey,the facebookers of Indonesia exceed
the users in Singapore and Malaysia. In fact that in the mid of 2007, facebooker was not
known well. In 2009, Indonesia has became the Republic of the facebook because it becomes
the fastests growing country on face book in southest Asia. Wow...so fantastis ladies and
gentlement.

By joining facebook, we, as the users can have many benefits .This facebook situs enables us to
find either the old friends or new ones,join the community of a city,a work,a school, and the
other areas to build relation and interact with the others , besides we can send message and
comment, we can also share or express to the others what’s in our mind or feeling like when we
are sad, happy, confused, angry and the other things. There are also the other facilities like
playing free games there.

With regarding to the benefits, we know that facebook has been a part of our needs. Though we
have known that facebook is useful for us, there are many phenomenon happening around us as
the negative impacts of using it especially for teenagers, students in our country

As could be expected, researchers

The first, Facebook that seems a simple hobby, can make the users, espeacially students
addicted, So, not only drug can make someone get addicted. The addiction can happen because
they find the great fun that they’ve found instead of doing the other important things in their
life. As the result of this, they will forget their obligation to be good students. They like spending
most of their time for facebook better than studying. Of course this will affect their qualities in
learning all subjects at school that get down or even worse.

The second, many students post negative words, photos or videos or get them from the
others. These can influence their mind to immitate to post the same things or affect their life, or
habits to do what they watch there. As the concequence, they and their parents will get involved
with police. Poor them

Ladies and gentlemen,

The most terrific thing, the hottest news that we’ve heard or seen recently from TV or the other
medias, many crimes happening because of facebook.Moral panic is a common reaction to this
phenomenon especially for the other facebookers and parents.

Well, the common reason that causes the crime is the carelessness of the kids especially
girls themselves. It can happen because their private information is exposed to the strangers
without knowing them well. They are easily tricked into accepting friend requests from the
persons that they haven’t known or met before. Then they give a great response because of their
sweet words or flatter, and finally just believe what they say. Then, when the kidnapping
happens, who will be blamed for this??? The kidnapper?? No, I think It’s not totally true

Ladies and gentlemen,

Before closing, let me take some points of my speech,

 FB is useful for social networking to enhance learning, to collaborate with the others, but
it must remembered that FB can be dangerous too. Crimes can happen because of this.
 Seeing the fact, the key to overcome this problem is that facebookers, especially students
must be able to differentiate between what becomes substance, and what is mere trash. It means
they must be smart to differentiate which is more important to do. Studying is the main duty for
students. Faceboook is only used in spare time.
 Parents must take a part to supervise their kid’s on line activity to protect them from on
line predators and other dangers

The growth of internet usage gets increasing so rapidly at this era. Because either individual or instance
needs the internet for daily activities, job, and various kinds of field. With the information,
telecommunication and technology progress, business chance to earn money via internet appears like
the consolation industry which offers online game. The business men make effort to make the game as
fun as possible or as challenging as possible . It’s expected that whoever playing the game will find
something enjoyable and have great curiosity of the game. As the result, the users want to play again and
again that make them addicted.

Ladies and gentlemen,

We know here not only smoking, drugs can also make people addicted. Addiction can also attack the on
line game users. Seen at a glance, addiction has the least risk for the users among smoking and drugs. The
fact proves that online game addiction give more negative impacts then they do. The addiction can raise
up the other tremendous impacts. The first, regarded from the social impact, since the users of the on
line game often spend their time in front of computer’s screen, they will have no time to get along with
their friends like asking school’s homework or just having a joke. Besides, they can’t spend their time to
gather with their family for sharing anything like their private problems. As the result, the relation with
their friends and family could be distantly spaced.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Regarding to the psychology, the users’ mind are set to keep thinking of the on line game. In this situation,
they will get difficulty in focusing on lessons. In their mind, playing on line game is more interesting than
studying. They feel lazy to think the harder materials. The worst thing can happen that they will play a
truant for the sake of the game. Besides, they will be indifferent and have less care of their surrounding.
Here, the probable character formed is selfish or introvert.

How about the moral effect ladies and gentlemen?

The addicts may be accustomed to do negative things for satisfying their need in on line game like lying
their parents. For example: they ask permission to study at their friends’ home but the fact, they go to
internet cafe for playing on line game.

Physically, playing game continually in front of computer’s screen causes dangerous effect for eyes health.
Besides, sitting too much, eating less because of being preoccupied to play the game can cause kidney
and interior cavity.The weight gets decreased because of forgetting to eat. In reverse, it can also make
over weight if the users have too much meal imbalanced by enough exercise.

With considering the bad impacts of on line game, let’s think over what to do as the smart youngsters.
There are other compulsories or obligations what to do than playing on line game.

To avoid addiction of on line game, parents play the main role for controlling their child. The parents
should maintain a good relationship with their child. Besides, they can monitor with whom their child get
along with. Never let them live in a bad surrounding that can give the bad impacts to his/her life.

For the addict, let me suggest you how to avoid the addiction. Well, having strong willingness to quit the
habit is really needed. Find a good environment for your daily activities and pray to God for guiding you
all time. To make your mind fresh, it’s okay to play the game but you must remember that limiting the
time is required. So, you will not be addicted because of over curiosity of the game.
