Please identify two professional growth goals based on the Danielson Framework Domain 2 (Instruction) or 3 (Environment) that you will implement this year. Goals need to be performance-based and impact student learning and/or improve instruction. Identify one personal faith development goal. Goal 1: Domain: 2c Managing Classroom Procedures Competency: Why did you choose this goal and how will it impact student learning and/or instruction? I choose this goal because I believe students need to be involved in creating a smooth-running, respectful, engaging classroom. They need to be responsible for their learning and the environment where they learn. I want them to have pride in their work and feel like they can display their work for all to see. In addition, I want to stretch students' ability to work in groups effectively. List methods/strategies to reach goal: 1. Student centers that are student-run. Not complete 2. Student group roles that have been taught and are utilized by students during group work. Done 3. Students know the classroom and help create classroom procedures. Done 4. Conversation in groups is respectful and purposeful. Not sure how to assess List 3 indicators of progress (student work, peer observation, student responses, statistical measures, performance assessment, benchmarks, STAR assessment, etc.) 1. The teacher can sit and work with a group of students without interruption. I can 2. Students begin to use group conversation styles outside of group work. Need to assess? 3. Transitions for groups run smoothly and without teacher direction. I think it does Resources/support needed: I would like feedback from an observation. Goal 2: Domain: 3D Using Assessment in Instruction Competency: Why did you choose this goal and how will it impact student learning and/or instruction? I feel I still have a lot to learn about how to use assessment to guide instruction. I know it impacts student learning because receiving feedback on work lets students know where they are and what they need to work on. List methods/strategies to reach goal: 1. I will utilize formative assessments more often as a content check. For example, I will use exit slips, and quizzes. I have used more exit slips and quizzes to assess. I then talk to individual students to follow up on what content they missed 2. I will share testing results with students individually and have them keep track of their own progress. Percentile results from the STAR assessment will be shared with students so they can be aware of their score and make a goal for improving it. I am sharing testing results with students and feel like they are more invested in their progress when they are aware of their score. List 3 indicators of progress (student work, peer observation, student responses, statistical measures, performance assessment, benchmarks, STAR assessment, etc.) 1. Students consistently do well on the formative assessments. We are always working on this 2. Students increase their percentile result on the STAR math and reading assessments. A few of my low readers are improving (Mark Clipperton for example) 3. Observations that students are clearly working toward their goal, ie: reading challenging books, writing with more description, practicing multiplication facts, etc. I have observed this in a number of students. Resources/support needed: 1. I would like to have one of our data meetings focus on putting together the folders for students to record their STAR reading and math assessment data. 2. I would like to find a way to keep track of my observations to track student progress. Personal Faith Development Goal: I will complete the Echoes of Faith course and receive my Catechist certificate. Why did you choose this goal? I choose to complete the catechist course because I believe that it will teach me and guide me to be a better catechist in my life. What methods/strategies will you use to achieve this goal? I am currently taking the Echoes of Faith course online and when finished, will have a Catechist Certificate. I opened up my classroom, once a week, to all OMS employees that are taking the Echoes of Faith online class to come together and give each other support as we take the class. I have reached out to Shirley Gray (Principal) Terry Burrows (RCIA Instructor) and planned with them, including 2 possible book talks/classes. Mid-year Progress: I am not as far as I want to be. I will be halfway or more through the Echoes of Faith and catechist certification process. _____teacher initial _____principal initial Date completed:____________ Year-end Progress: I will have completed the catechist course. _____teacher initial _____principal initial Date completed:____________
