Fellow students,

First of all, let me introduce myself, my name is Fransisco Xaverio. They call me by my nickname
Chico. I’ve been part of this wonderful student council organization for 2 years. Starting from a
representative then pioneers and then I realize that being part of a Student Council is not just simply
“trying” but being a part of this organization needs a lot of passion and the faith of never giving up.
Actually last year I was elected by the Red Team to be a candidate of Student Council President, but I
realize i was not ready that time but this year, right now, I am sure that I am ready, my last chance to
prove it is with this speech.

I stand before you today as a candidate for Student Council President. In this position i will work
hard on your behalf, listen to your ideas and do everything in my power to make this school a blast
and more fun that it can be.

I stand before you today not only as a candidate, but also as your friend. And like a good friend, i will
be honest with you about the challenges our school faces. I will do my best to communicate with
you and keep you informed.

As your friend, i will also be asking you for your help. No one person has all of the answers or can do
all of the work. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Together we must be strong and
cooperate to achieve our goals.

Among some of the ideas for this school year, there are 3 important school events that I want to
Highlight.

First, The most exciting and wanted event which is the Lead Camp. For you guys which doesn’t know
what is Lead Camp, I will explain it. So Lead Camp is a Main Activity which happens annually every
beginning of new school year. Last year’s Lead Camp was really fun, but there is one thing that I
wanted to change if I will be the next president, which are the games. The games we played last year
was only fun for some students and even some students are not interested at all, they choose to
watch rather than playing, and so what i will do is making games which came from students ideas,
because eventually you guys are the one who’s going to play, what’s the use of making games that
you guys will not be interested in playing. Lead Camp was really fun, last year some of the students
are asking me “Why dont we make it longer?” To be honest, I would like to have a longer time for
the Lead Camp, because for me Lead Camp has a lot of benefits which will turn someone into a
better one at the end of the day, and I realize 1 night was really short. So what do you think guys?
maybe we could have it more than 1 night?

The Second one, the most questioned event, which is the Mentari Cup. We are about to have the
first Mentari Cup, isn’t it great? But to be honest, there are a lot of problems we face last year and
the lack of communication between us which creates a delay for this event. To be honest, the first
plan of this Mentari event was last February, but we couldn’t manage to have it that time and
unfortunately we are about to have it this school year which is on February too, If I will be the
president, I will do my best to no longer make this cup a delay, I will put 1000% effort, I will mantain
our communication and I know I am nothing without your support, that’s why need your vote.

Last but not least, If I will be the next President, I aim to have this activity back if possible, which
most of the old mentarians know which is the Family Fun Day. Family Fun Day was one of old
mentari events which is actually beneficial for students but it was forgotten. Mentari Fun Day was
really cool because students will play with their imagination and creativity to create something fun
so that people will come and play your games, some of the most known activity during the Family
Fun Day was the Haunted House, The Escape Room, and many more. It challenge students mind to
think out of the box and not just stick to the rules, but they create their own rules.

So as your friend, I believe in you, I believe in this school, I believe in our ability to work together for
something great. Like what I believe “Great things can’t be done by a single person, but great things
are done when you are in team”

I am asking today for your vote. I believe that I have what it takes to be a good leader, and I am also
asking for your help. Let us begin the journey today of making this school the very blast and best it
could be. If I will be the next president, I also want that you guys will always remind me whenever
my feets are no longer on the ground. Thats all that i could say.
