“Globalization has changed and influenced people’s lives”. In what ways?

The phrase, indeed, emphasizes the most critical matter which involves the physical, mental,
social, or the whole way of living of an individual. This is seen and experienced as a controversial
phenomenon. Globalization, itself, is a factor which gives discontents and misinterpretations in
terms of social factors, culture, education, family orientation, etc. Several of these are: the
impact of globalization on families is undeniable in terms of family re-modeling. Families have
evolved due to the impact of individualism which is associated with globalization. I think it
means that people see the connections of the entirety, the globe is seen as a whole and one isn’t
continually and obsessively self-centered. However, globalization is tied to social development
and interaction. People’s mentality change and they see this new way and their conception of
the world becomes wider. Maybe, one may say that it is a process with a certain direction,
though, there are contradictory processes. But the whole “construction” moves in a certain
direction. It is the kind of thing you can’t do anything about, it exists in any case and it
progresses all the time. I can’t estimate its worth; I think it’s quite neutral. It is a phenomenon
that just exists and comes – we’re all more and more part of one and the same thing. But as far
as influencing things, I think you can change the way things develop, exactly through children,
through what you choose to teach them. I suppose a person’s conception of the world is greatly
affected by how one sees one’s own possibilities in changing things. If one believes fatalistically
that what happens just happens and one can’t do anything about it, then probably, one feels
less able to control these things. But on the other hand, if one has a typical individualistic
attitude, then it’s like I can, I’m able and I will! --then you see better the possibilities to change
things. I’m more of a fatalist who doesn’t believe - but of course you can influence things. For
example, if “we don’t use the Internet in our family, period!”, then you’re not open to the
experience, or “we won’t buy a TV, period”! Well, then you’re not a part of this globalization
process, even though you can’t prevent it. I suppose one’s own view and understanding of the
matter directs one’s behavior, so one can be quite active in taking action either for or against if
you believe it’s useful.

“Globalization promotes understanding and goodwill among different countries”. How?

As the phrase implies, in a global environment the ability to communicate effectively can be a
challenge. Even when both parties speak the same language there can still be
misunderstandings due to ethic and cultural differences. As society becomes more globally
connected the ability to communicate across cultural boundaries has gained increasing
prominence. One of the several evidences is that globalization builds good relationship between
countries as they exchange products. It helps to avoid conflicts among countries, promotes
understanding and goodwill. Another example is that global businesses must understand how to
communicate with employees and customers from different cultures in order to fulfill the
organization’s mission and build value for stakeholders. The use of technology has had a
profound impact on how businesses communicate globally and market their products and
services. Globalization reduces international poverty, contributes to the spread of technology,
adds to the profitability of companies and corporations, builds stronger trade ties and
dependencies between nations, and most especially, homogenizes the world culture, both
positively and negatively. This simply states that it is the coming together of the world's markets
for goods, services, capital and labour. It can be described as a more intense and worldwide
version of regional integration as a result of changes in communication, transportation and
technology. To end my statement, I strongly believe that globalization is one extraordinary
aspect that has triggered the new modern societies without cultural conflicts and discrimination.
