Statement of Purpose

Delhi.

I am writing to express my interest in pursuing a Ph.D. at Indian Institute of Technology

Jodhpur(IITJ). My research interest includes condensed matter physics, nano structured material based
devices, semiconducting devices and nano structure physics. I desire to make significant contributions to my
field. Nano Science and Nano materials have always enthralled me by its beauty and abstraction.

After +2, I joined the Undergraduate Program in Physics at Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) Aligarh, a
premier institute of reputed in India . The Undergraduate Program, comprising several
courses-such as Mathematical Physics , Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Thermal & Statistical
Physics, Electronics, Electromagnetism, Electrodynamics etc., have given me a firm background and interest in
Physics. Further I completed my Masters from Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI), New Delhi with specialization in
Material Science, which furthered my knowledge and developed a deep interest especially in condensed
matter physics; neno structure physics; physics & technology of semiconductor devices and characterization,
growth & imperfection of materials etc.

Although I gained a lot on the theoretical and experimental fronts during my undergraduate and post
graduate studies, I always felt the need of better experimental exposure before entering doctoral studies. This
motivated me to preparefor Graduation Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), which I cleared in 2015.

I plan to continue my career and pursue my interests. I wish to study various aspects of Materials Science and
Nano Science including the scaling of different properties, characteristic temperatures such as Debye
temperature, Curie temperature and electrical noise through electrical measurements.

As a humble step to my long-term goals, I would like to pursue a PhD in Indian Institute of
Technology Jodhpur(IITJ), as it would enable me to delve deeper into these subjects. The IITJ is well
renowned for its outstanding contribution to the field of material sciences. Backed by excellent research
facilities, the several groups are sure to provide me an encouraging atmosphere to pursue my graduate
studies. An opportunity to interact with those groups would be a golden chance for anyone. In such an
environment, I am sure I would be able to achieve my full potential and meetthe high standards of the
Institute thereby helping me become an excellent researcher and a grea tinstructor. After receiving education
from IITJ, I would be able to fulfill my ambition of learning to efficiently and effectively conduct experiments
and serve science by my knowledge.
