INTRODUCTION
Filipinos can’t hide the fact that we are under circumstances poverty. Some Filipino
are struggling to live because of poverty. Eating three times per day is impossible for
them, what’s more in education? Children who should be studying will sacrifice their
education or the their future to help their parents job that is not appropriate to their age.
Until 4PS came, this program aims to help or assist filipino families who are in
great need, and through this program the future of thier children can now be achieved.
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is the Philippines government’s most
expensive social protection program .The program provides cash to poor family to help
them with their needs. The program is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare
and Development, with the Department of Health, the Department of Education and the
National Economic and Development Authority as partners. This Program Started in
2007, the government expanded the program in December 2016 to reach a total of 20
million Filipinos belonging to 4.4 million households. (Reyes, Tabuga, Mina, & Asis;
2015) It aims to eradicate extreme poverty within the Philippines by purchasing health
and education specifically in ages 0–18. 4Ps provides cash grants to compliant
household-beneficiaries with health grant worth Php 500.00 and educational grants worth
Php 300.00 and Php 500.00 each to the children studying in elementary and high school,
respectively. A rice subsidy in the form of cash amounting to Php 600.00 to the
household-beneficiaries is also included.(DSWD)

5. Does 4Ps program meet the basic needs of the Qualified members?
SCOPE AND DELIMITAION
This study focuses to the 4Ps members in Barangay Caingin Southville 4 and only 4Ps
member will be surveyed.
Parents/ Guardians: This study will help the parents/guardians to have enough
knowledge about the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program(4Ps).
Other Researchers: Findings in this study may serve as a basis for further

The 4Ps is a social program that entails monetary and non-monetary transfers to the poor or
poorest families who have school-aged children on the condition that they meet the
program’sterms that are aimed at improving their capacities (Cecchini and Madariaga 2011).
