Assessment 1- Case Study

Due: midnight (23:59) Sunday 18.08. 2019

Globalisation, advance in technology, consumer taste and awareness and many other
factors affect organisations all around the world. In hospitality sector in particular, the
triggers for change are various. New hotels join the industry with innovative features such
as Hanna Hotel in Japan that is fully staffed with robots. Big brands acquire smaller brands
and many organisations apply more environmentally friendly practice. Keeping this in
mind, theories and practices of change management help us understand forces that are
impacting the world and potential ways to deal with them.

In this assessment you are required to choose an organisation in hospitality sector (travel
agency, airliner, hotel, etc.), analyse the current environmental factors (internal and
external) that might trigger a (some) change(s). Throughout this analysis, you need to
apply theories of Organisational Development and Change Management (ODC) to better
lead a successful change and to propose recommendations for the change. These
theories include mix of organisational science and behavioural knowledge. The purpose
of this assignment is for you to reflect on how you can understand change management
