available in the app. They can also delete the existing folders.

security protection as without password you can’t access the data. It allows the user to access

Diaries often contain both good and bad content. The ease at which information is leaked out
from a manual diary resulting to blackmailing of the person with the bad content in the diary.
This ais a big and mind disturbing issues as an individual good reputation can be dented with
a negative content from his/her diary, denying him/her the good of tomorrow. Hence privacy
and confidentiality has become a problem to handwritten or manual diaries. Thanks to the
technology, as the negative issues of the manual diary has been addressed by digital diary.
The project includes general factors that affect the product design and implementation in
Digital Diary requirements and necessary features. Digital Diary requirements and
specifications will be the main factor determining the design of the components since this is
a single user product.
It provides the user to record the data so that they don’t have to remember. Keeping a diary
with us creates problem, we can lost it due to any reason. So this application is built to
remove the paper base work with an interactive UI design.
As diary is all about for personal use. So keeping in mind about personal use, a security is
provided. Any other users can’t access the record until and unless they have the password to
login. If any other person knows the user password, then a feature for adding new password is
enabled. And the old password get erased.

Use Case Diagram:

The use case diagram shown below shows the simple representation of user’s interaction with
the system. The user has 3 functions: input, setup and report. The input function has to do with
supplying the necessary password for verification to avoid a wrong user from viewing your
personal data. Without the correct password the diary content cannot be accessed. This serves as
a security agent for the diary application. The task of a setup is to coordinate the input accounts
after verification, make corrections when necessary to update the users account. The report
function is concerned with the diary inputs including the management categories, new data list
and updates or correction of previous entries

Scope of the Study

There are diverse forms of digital diary with various features like audio, video, graphics, text
and encryption/decryption but this research is streamlined to a personal diary with features like
text, graphics.

Motivation of the Study

The ease of private intrusion caused handwritten diary and the frequent lost/theft of manual for
the purpose of blackmailing the diary owner or diarist is a serious threat to individuals and
organizations.
The advance and the tremendous features coupled with the data/information security has
prompted or motivated this research.

History of Digital Diary

Diary is as old as man and as old as writing. Digital diary which is not a mere storage device like
what most of us equate it to was first published by Casio in the early and the mid 1990s. The
initial digital diaries notably CASIO SF8000 and CASIO Business navigator BN-40A and other
were electronic organizers, capable of storing hundred or thousands of memos, addresses,
schedule record, though they were superseded by mobile phones and PDA’s, CASIO digital
diaries hosted a common set of features while some have had extra features specific to the
model.
Today, the pioneers of digital diaries, CASIO has completely revolutionized the term ‘diary’
with the use of advance technology likewise other manufacturers.

Introduction
Digital diaries have been since the early and the mid 1990s but the first online diary was
published 14th November 1994, until 1996 at the MIT media Lab. Hence this research is not the
first of its kind.
