2.0 Executive Summary
Saver’s Castle Convenience Store is a fully registered retail business which will
be carrying out its business operation in Tinambacan Norte, Calbayog City. The
business will mainly be concerned with providing basic daily needs of each individual
who are residing far from the city proper. Saver’s Castle Convenience Store will be
owned by Blyne Erena Comilang and Leicester Dan Selencio who will be both the CEO
and manager of the store.
We are in the convenience store business to make profits at the same to give our
customers value for their money and time whenever they patronize us. We want to give
people who patronize our convenience store the opportunity to choose from a wide
range of both locally and imported quality products from different manufacturing brands
at highly affordable prices.
We are aware that there are several small convenience stores and chains of
convenience stores all around Calbayog proper, which is why we want spend time and
resources to conduct our feasibility studies and market survey so as to enable us locate
the business in an area that will support the growth of the business and also for us to be
able offer much more than our competitors will be offering. We want ensure that our
facility is easy to locate and our outlet is well secured and equipped.
Beyond retailing quality and affordable items in our convenience store, will
ensure that our customer care is second to none in the whole of Calbayog City. We
know that our customers are the reason why we are in business which is why we will go
the extra mile to get them satisfied and get what they are looking for whenever they visit
our convenience store and also to become our loyal customers and ambassadors in
and around our neighborhood.

Saver’s Castle Convenience Store will ensure that all our customers are given fair
treatment whenever they visit our store. It will be achieved by hiring a number friendly
and responsible staffs with a proper assistance of the managers. We will ensure that we
get our customers involved in the selection of brands that will be on our racks and also
when making some business decisions that will directly or indirectly affect them.

one step away our market because we don’t want people to travel
to reach us.

The Saver’s Castle Convenient store will be located in Tinambacan Poblacion,
Calbayog City Province of Samar. The Convenient store will be wholly owned and
operated by Blyne Comilang and Leicester Selencio. The store will serve variety higher
end products from packaged foods and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to medicine
and toiletries.

The Saver’s Castle Convenience Store will be 7 days a week with hours as

4.1 Our Products

Saver’s Castle is going to operate a standard and registered convenience


store that will retail a wide range high end household items from both locally
manufacturers and international manufacturers just like any other registered and
standard convenience store Calbayog City and in any part of the world. Aside from
retailing items, we will secure license to carry out money transfer and mobile money
services. We are in the convenience store business to make profits and give our
customers satisfaction for every single cent.

These are some of the products that we will retail in our convenience store:

convenience store is located in a corner piece property in Brgy. Tinambacan which is
few meters away from a busy City of Calbayog. We have enough parking spaces that
can accommodate well over 15 cars per time.

One thing is certain, we will ensure that we have a wide range of quality
and affordable items (household needs) available in our store at all times. It will be
difficult for customers to visit our store and not see the items that they are looking for.
One of our business goals is to make Saver’s Castle a one stop convenience store.

Our excellent highly experienced and qualified management, customer


service culture and highly secured facility with enough packing space will also serve as
a competitive advantage for us.

Daily essentials consumption has shown steady growth, with packaged goods
and drinks having the strongest growth. Consumers far from the City Proper are among
the most demanding ones. They favor affordable items with great quality and demand
exemplary services. Saver’s Castle Convenience store will strive to build loyal
customers base by offering trusted products and services in a large and
accommodating place of its establishment located in Tinambacan Poblacion.

locations where we intend to open our convenience store. In the place far from the

In view of that, we have decided to put up our convenience store to service the

and our convenience store will be located at Brgy. Tinambacan. We have conducted

6.1 Our Pricing Strategy

Pricing is one of the key factor that needs to be consider in building


a convenience store and retailing business generally, it is usual for everyone
to go to places (convenience stores) where they could purchase items /
household goods at cheaper prices which is why convenience store / retail
industry attract loads of customers.

We are much aware that we don’t have the capacity to compete with other
bigger retailers and malls yet, but we will ensure that the prices of all the
quality items that will be available in our store are competitive with what is
obtainable among convenience stores within our level or in our location if ever.

6.2 Payment Options

At Saver’s Castle Convenience store, our payment policy is


through cash only since we are quite aware that our chosen place is far from
the city wherein there’s no bank or any machine that would serve as our
transaction. And so payment by cash is by far the only available payment
option our establishment could offer.

Saver’s Castle marketing strategy will focus mainly on the following key

Saver’s Castle will be having a strong and unique identity, supported by a


customized logo that will appear on signs, publication, packaging, staffs
uniform and advertising that will help our customers in remembering our store
and at the same time, will help us build a brighter name for our business. Our
chosen brand will represent the ethical purpose our business and appeal to
our target market

Many of our future customers are already linked into social. Information
and professional networks and can communicate very efficiently by this
means. And so, this might be helpful in promoting to social media what
products and services our business could offer.

7.0 Management Summary
In our Convenience store. The money that we will be earning will be use
partly to re-invest in the business and its development, so that it can better achieve
its main goal.

We, the owners of Saver’s Castle will appoint board of directors. That will
help us provide new strategic management of the business and at the same time
will help us in running our store. The management board will meet monthly.

The staff team will comprise:

The General Manager, whose role is to oversee and take responsibility in all
aspects of the business including: Financial Management and reporting, quality
control and training; appointment of staff; the supply chain; compliance with legal
and other obligations. The General Manager will also be very visible in our store,
working directly with customers and will be the public face of the business.

The Assistant Manager, who will be under the General Manager in their
absence and works otherwise in the store, if ever needed. This person has a
specific responsibility for the learning space and the activities taking place there
and also in the office on a day-to-day basis with suppliers, ensuring that payments
are correctly done and the accounts are maintained.

The General Staffs are employed on an hourly basis and cover the other
key functions. First is the Clerk which main job is to operate the cash register and
provide accurate change to cash paying customers, then the Maintenance
technician/s, who the one responsible for cleaning and basic repairs of buildings,
equipment, tools and facilities of the store. The Sales Associates, which job is
working and helping the customers in finding the products they want and ensure a
smooth sales process and Sanitary Engineers whose job is to maintain the
cleanliness of the store and lastly the Security Officer/s who are going to maintain
safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and
monitoring premises and personnel.

Saver’s Castle will be in touch with the financial side of the business at all times.
This will start with our budgeting program sets sales goals, and creates criteria for gross
margin, expenses and profit.
We will manage and grow our store with a full range of financial services that
includes a year of planning, business evaluating, and estate planning and financial
assistance. Saver’s Castle will help us save and achieve valuable time and money plus
it will lessen the headaches and worry often associated with complex money matters.
From our store, we will make sure that we are going to receive and check the
complete portfolio of financial, accounting, and payroll services including comparative
operating statements, bank reconciliations, cash flow, financial projections etc. We
would like to be in touch with these because these kinds of thorough information and
accurate record keeping will surely provide a better future for our store.

8.2 Source and Use of Funds
Total start-up costs are estimated to be nearly 2,000,000.00. The majority
of the costs are associated with the convenience store equipments, inventory
and materials for the establishment. Total costs for these items are reported to
be 1,415,000.00. Moreover, the production of goods and drinks to be sold are
estimated to be 400,000.00 The costs are also associated with the construction
of the convenience store to provide updated plumbing and creating additional
space in the parking area. Additional start-up expenses are in the form of working
capital and contingency 305,000.00 which is included in the Table 1. Leicester
Selencio and Blyne Erena Comilang will contribute 800,000.00 and are
requesting an additional 1,200,000.00 in the form of a bank loan. The loan is
expected to be a fully amortizing 7 year term note secured by BAR Loan and
Services Inc.

9.0 Exit Strategy


Disposal of store equipments, furnitures, and machineries would occur at
auction. The additional assets such as the staff’s uniforms, racks and shelves, and carts
could be sold at auction or on online shops. Foods inventory because of its quick
perishable time would be considered a write-off. Goods and drinks with long-term
qualities could be sold to fellow stores at a right price.
