Abstract
The Use of Cooperative Learning Type of TSTS to improve students’ achievement in learning Civic
at the IV-B class in SDN 004 Tarakan. Department of Teacher Education of Primary School, Faculty

The objective of this study is to improve students’ achievement in learning Civic especially for
globalization material by implementing Cooperative Learning Type of TSTS at the IV-B class in SDN
004 Tarakan.
The research design of this study is classroom action research (CAR) that is done in SDN 004
Tarakan at second semester in academic year of 2015/2016. The subjects of this research are
students of IV-B class in SDN 004 Tarakan which consists of 12 male and 12 female students. The
research is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and
reflecting. The data of this study are gathered by using instrument which are students’ observation
sheet, teachers’ observation sheet, cognitive assessment (test of learning achievement), affective
assessment (team work, discipline, and courtesy) and psychomotor assessment.
The result of this research shows that by implementing cooperative learning type of TSTS can
improve students’ achievement in learning Civic especially for globalization material at the IV-B
class in SDN 004 Tarakan. It can be seen by the students’ achievement result in each cycle, in cycle
I, the percentage of students’ completeness in cognitive aspect is 75%, and having an improvement
in cycle II, that is 92%. In addition, in cycle I, the percentage of students’ completeness in affective
aspect is 79%, and having an improvement in cycle II, that is 100%. Next, in cycle I, the percentage
of students’ completeness in psychomotor aspect is 79%, and having an improvement in cycle II, that
is 92%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the research is success and achieve the indicator of
success.
4. KESIMPULAN
Dari hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat
disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model
pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD
meningkatkan hasil belajar PKn siswa di kelas
IV-B SDN 004 Tarakan semester genap tahun
pembelajaran 2015/2016. Pada aspek kognitif
siklus I diperoleh ketuntasan sebesar 75%
kemudian pada siklus II meningkat menjadi
92%. Pada aspek afektif siklus I diperoleh
ketuntasan sebesar 79% pada siklus II meningkat
menjadi 100%. Pada aspek psikomotorik siklus I
diperoleh ketuntasan sebesar 79% pada siklus II
meningkat menjadi 92%.
