This document presents a typology of potential nursing problems in family nursing practice. It identifies four levels of assessment: 1) presence of wellness or potential for enhanced capability, 2) presence of health threats like risk factors for diseases, accidents, or poor home environment, 3) presence of actual health deficits like illness or disability, and 4) presence of foreseeable stress points like marriage issues, pregnancy, or death of a family member. Within each level it lists specific factors or conditions that could indicate nursing problems, such as nutritional habits, stress levels, immunization status, or family disunity.

A Typology of Nursing Problems in Family Nursing Practice

Poor Home/Environmental Condition/Sanitation: family has adequate living space since each family members has individual bedrooms They have refrigerators, stove, microwave, and toaster used as food storage and cooking facilities no water supply from the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) regarding with the toilet facilities, the toilet is privately owned and is located inside their house For the garbage disposal, they have garbage can mixed with biodegradable and non-biodegradable. There is garbage collector that makes rounds every week The type of drainage system they have is an open pit presence of breeding or resting sights of vectors of diseases such as flies, mosquitoes and roaches The houses are not congested, spaced adequately and lives in a peaceful area and distant from noise pollution.
