Schlossberg defined a transition as an event, or non-event that results in changed relationships,

routines, assumptions, and roles. To understand the meaning that a transition has for a particular
individual, the type, context, and impact of the transition must be considered. Schlossberg identified
four major sets of factors that influence a person's ability to cope with a transition: situation, self,
support, and strategies. (Page # R36) Also, Neugarten to develop the idea of the "social clock."
Your "social clock" is pretty well-entrenched, conscious, or unconsciously. She also found a
growing "interiority"-an emphasis on introspection as people age, meaning that we are more likely
to focus on inner, rather than outer life. Rather than focusing on the commonalities of aging,
Neugarten focused on the different ways that people cope with aging. (Page#R38) I want to say that
both scholars placed the importance of personal handling and awareness by aging.
As for me, in light of my past and present situation, my ability to cope with the situation is
developing because of experiences in my life, but my ability to control time and recognize age
seems to be the same. Most successful type of personality, they cope comfortably with aging, accept
becoming older, and maintain self-dignity. But I still have disintegrated & disorganized personality.
Sometimes, I'm unable to accept aging, experience despair as my age. So, I'm strongly wanted to
get back my age 20s even though I know well it is impossible. Above all, I need to practice looking
at others the way they are and respect them and beyond the bad habits of the past, prejudices and
dogmatic tendencies.
While I have seen the race clips, it reminds of me that I once envied white people with blond hair,
tall, and the tinny person in the USA. But that was a dangerous idea that even invaded my self-
respect and identity. Regardless of race or age or background, here and now, I am only focusing on
that I live my life as a nurse and a happy person. I promise by myself I have to live my life with a
healthy mind, physical and love my job. I will take care of others who need my help and love my
life.
2. As a six-stage model of homosexual identity formation is outlined within the framework of
interpersonal congruency theory. Stages are differentiated by the person's perceptions of his/her
behavior and the actions that arise as a consequence of this perception. Also, development in
midlife that takes place in our personalities on such dimension as complexity productivity an
atrium. To get a better handle on this, it will be helpful to look at the nature and scope of the change
that takes place in the course of lives. (workbook, pp19). LGBT, the person is seen to have an active
role in the acquisition of a homosexual identity. Alternative paths of development are proposed
within each stage. Ethnic identity formation affected LGBT people to identify as well. Several
factors believed to be influential in determining whether a person takes one line of development or
another are discussed. (workbook, pp25)

Like stage one, I think this stage is the biggest issue than another stage. Identity confusion this is
the “Who am I?” stage associated with the feeling that one is different from peers, accompanied by
a growing sense of personal alienation. The person begins to be conscious of same-sex feelings or
behavior and to label them as such. It is rare at this stage for the person to disclose inner turmoil to
others. (workbook, pp25)

In conclusion, sexual identity development is thought to progress through several stages, beginning
with identity confusion caused by the realization of same-sex attractions and ultimately ending with
the acceptance and consolidation of an LGBQ identity. In most models of sexual identity
development, the final stage involves adopting an LGBQ identity, sharing that identity with others
through a "coming out" process, and committing to this identity as a stable and happy part of the
self (http://www.mnsu.edu/lgbtc/)
3. We are so much changing so fast, and digital technology has helped increase the exponential pace
of change, and the rate of change is occurring in our world. Millennials are having been shaped by
that but more and more. So, Millennials are shaping that when we think about the tools that
powering this real-time of communication that we’re all it is increasingly platform mentioned
earlier like Twitter Facebook YouTube that has been created by people in this generation. So, we
got the early and some digital technology as we are growing up and then we took that and took to
the next level. As a result, it gives us this unique position in the world. (What will the Millennial
Generation do? in youtube clip)
According to Neugarten article, a stage theory of adult life seems oversimplified for several reasons.
For the reasons, the timing of life events is becoming less regular, age is losing its customary social
meanings, and the trends are toward the fluid life cycle and an age-irrelevant society. We live in
preoccupations reported by young, middle-aged, and older persons are recurrent ones that appear
and reappear in new forms and do not follow in a single fixed order. These factors make a
meaningful life story from a life history, always deals with issues of time, timing, and aging.
