Amaya Kuda Rah, Maldives is a Private Island Resort.

Consisting of 51 keys, located in South Ari Atoll and coming under full
ownership of Luxury Resort Pvt. Ltd, a member of Hayley’s Group PLC.
We’re looking for the energetic and service oriented candidate as:
CHIEF ENGINEER
Job Summary:
Responsible for the entire Engineering department at Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives and not limited to, but inclusive of ensuring that all nec-
essary preventative maintenance is carried out and that the assets are maintained to a high standard, that Engineering budgets are ad-
hered, property improvement projects are completed on time and on budget and that all necessary reactive maintenance is done in a
timely manner to ensure the look of the property is maintained. This should be done whilst adhering to local government regulations,
Amaya Resorts & Spas P&Ps and the Engineering and Safety Standards policy. The role reports directly to the General Manager.
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering field with minimum 3 year experience in similar capacity.
• Recognized academic qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field
• Fluent in English (verbal, written, read and listening) with Strong communication skills.
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills and able to work in a team and alone
• Proactive, reliable and flexible
• Friendly, polite. open minded and Cultivates a positive work environment
Key Tasks:
• Ensure that the property’s preventative maintenance schedule covers all aspects of the maintenance of the asset and is implemented
accordingly to ensure the asset is looked after to a high standard.
• Manage the smooth operation of Generators, ROs and STP plants.
• Conducts major overhaul of Resort Powerhouse generators (Deutz and Volvo Brands).
• Maintain all Fire, Life and Safety equipment on island and ensure it is 100% operable at all times; arrange rectification of any defective
equipment in a timely manner
• Inspect all fire pumps that are in running condition with complete accessories.
• Conducts and supervise all maintenance works of speed boat fleet.
• To be creative and find solutions on any engineering related challenges.
• To provide exceptional service to our esteemed guests and to other departments.
• Active involvement in the protection of the environment. Reduce consumption of consumables (electricity, gas, water supplies, etc.), re-
use and recycle whenever possible. Dispose of waste in accordance with established guidelines for waste segregation.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Programme for all equipment in the Hotel, including Kitchens and
Laundry.
• Supervise any construction and to ensure that it is done according to standard and completed in a given time frame and budget.
• Check and monitor stock lists of spare parts in the Engineering store and to order when necessary so as to ensure the continued seam-
less operation of the property with as little impact on the resort’s cash flow as possible.
• Make purchase request of spare parts that are not readily available in the market and to keep stock available when required to ensure
the smooth operation of the resort.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding maintenance spares, specifications and quotations.
• Ensure that the maintenance department has required skilled and trained manpower to function effectively.
• Compile all the necessary papers, instruction manuals, spare parts list and catalogues for reference in troubleshooting and in ordering
spares.
• Attend daily morning briefings and be ready to assist departments with urgent maintenance issues that need to be attended to in order
to ensure smooth running of the operation.
• Ensure that all Job Order requests are attended to and completed within the given time frame.
• Conduct regular training of the Engineering team to ensure that not only does the resort have the necessary skill set, but that the team
are improved and developed.
• Perform annual appraisals for all Engineering Employees and to select qualified Engineering staff for promotion and or annual salary in-
crements.
• Prepare monthly reports of fuel consumption, lube oil, water consumption, LPG and electrical consumption in KWH.
• Prepares the annual and revised Engineering budget in connection with repair and maintenance expense in close cooperation with the
FC as per the requirements of the property.
