I. Learning Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:


a. Identify the global health and millennium development goals;
b. Enumerate the factors that affect global health and millennium development goals
c. Perform one millennium development goal.

Topic: Global health and millennium development goals

Resources Needed: Manila Paper and Learner’s Material, Pictures, and Print outs. Laptop and
audio visual learning materials.
Reference: Physical Education and Health Learner’s Material page 261-264.

Introduction: The term global health rose in popularity along with the rise of globalization. Both
terms improved public awareness of vulnerabilities and shared responsibilities among people.
The developmental goals are as follows; eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal
primary education, promote gender equality and empower women, reduce child mortality,
improve maternal health.

What did you notice about the given activity? Why do you need to understand the factors
that affect millennium development goals? (The students will present their answer).
D. Abstraction

The term global health rose in popularity along with the rise of globalization. Both terms

developmental goals are as follows; eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal
primary education, promote gender equality and empower women, reduce child mortality,
improve maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, ensure environmental sustainability and global
partnership.
