Performs patient admission while adhering strictly to the standards set by the medical
institution.
Interview patients upon admissions to complete the information needed.
Coordinates activities related to admission of patients in hospital or other medical facility;
confers with physicians and nursing, housekeeping, transport and other staff members to
coordinate and schedule admission of patient.
Assigns accommodation based on physician’s admitting orders, patient’s preference, nature of
illness, availability of space, and other information, and enter bed assignment information to
the system.
Prepares record of admission, transfer and other required data.
Keeps record of admissions and discharges and compiles admission-census data.
Ensures the accuracy and validity of the pertinent entries on the patient’s records sheet.
Establishes effective rapport with the patients, hence creating a medium of open
communication.
Maintains the completeness of patient’s records.
Maintains all confidentiality of all information pertaining to the patient, either verbal or written
and ensures that such information is used only for the therapeutic purposes of the client.
Updates the directory.
Accommodates and correlates incoming phone calls to the designated unit and relays messages
accurately and clearly to the people concern.
Entertains queries.
Prepares monthly report of admissions and discharges.
Generates Philhealth Benefit Eligibility Form (PBEF) and check the requirements needed.
In charge with the Paging System.
Performs other related duties assigned by the Management.
