DAILY Teacher Mrs. Jennifer B. Magango Learning Area Earth and Life Science
LESSON July 9, 2019
PLAN Teaching Date 7:15 – 8:15 11-Infinity
Quarter First
and Time 9:45 – 10:45 11- Henry Sy
10:45 – 11:45 11- Jean Paul Satre

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners will be able to develop and demonstrate an understanding of the
internal structure of the Earth.
B. Performance Standards The learners will be able to:
1. Describe the Earth’s interior (in terms of crust, mantle, core); and
2. Compare the Earth’s layers
C. Learning Competencies & Code The learners shall be able to :
1. identify the layers of the Earth (S11/12ES-Ia-e-7)
2. differentiate the layers of the Earth from each other (S11/12ES-Ia-e-8).
II. CONTENT COMPOSITION OF THE EARTH
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teaching Guide Earth and Life Science TG pp. 41-45
2. Leaners’ Material/ Textbook Earth and Life Sciences: For Senior High School. LORIMAR Publishing Inc.
Pages 4-24.
3. Additional Materials from LR portal
B. Other Learning Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULT TERMS
Introduce the list of important terms that learners will encounter.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of What’s INSIDE?

the new lesson Hold up a globe or a basketball and explain to students that the Earth
is shaped like a ball. Have the students write and sketch a description
of what they think the inside of the Earth looks like.
D. Discussing new concepts and Give a demonstration/ lecture/ simulation proper on the Layers of the Earth
practicing new skills #1
E. Discussing new concepts and 1. How scientists look into earth’s interior
practicing new skills #2 2. Earth’s layered structure

F. Developing mastery (leads to Egg-cellent Earth activity:

Formative Assessment) Using hard-boiled egg as a model of Earth’s structure, lead a brief discussion
with students having them identify the similarities and differences between the
egg model and the corresponding layers of the Earth.
G. Finding practical applications of ACTIVITY:
concepts and skills in daily living Challenge students to devise alternative analogies for the internal structure of
the Earth.
ASK:
1. How can you describe the internal structure of the Earth.?
2. What is the importance of each layer of the Earth?
H. Making generalizations and VIDEO PRESENTATION:
abstractions about the lesson LAYERS OF THE EARTH
Dr. Binocs Show
