through our textbook and the presentation by Dr. Dutschke has given me some insight
into my approach to leadership. Last week we were instructed to discuss the leadership
approach that best describes our leadership style, and I chose the skills approach.
However, after learning about transformational leadership, I have come to realize that
professional setting or at home. In a work environment, I tend to use the skills approach,
which focuses on the three-skill (technical, human, conceptual) approach concept. This
approach allows me to be successful when working with clients, colleagues, and direct
approach. As Kouzes and Posner’s model explains, I have had to: model the way,
inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the
heart. Without divulging too much detail, let me just say that my childhood was difficult
and I have had to overcome many obstacles to be where I am today. With the LORD’s
help, I have been able to lead my family out of Egypt and into the promise land, sort of.
My family’s (parents and siblings) life has changed significantly as a result of decisions I
have made to better our lives. I can tell you that my decisions resemble the practices
present one solution to a set of individual problems. I need to learn to listen to individual
integrity and knowledge, and is a great example of someone who practices his faith. He
has been a pastor for over 20 years, both in the United States and Mexico. He inspires
and encourages his congregation to reach their fullest potential in God, and never
hesitates to meet the needs of people, no matter what those needs are. He never

is always open to suggestions from his staff and is known for supporting many
innovative ideas.
