I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard;
The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre-colonial Philippine literature of the
past; various reading styles; ways of determining word meanings; the sounds of English
and the prosodic features of speech; and correct subject-verb agreement.

B. Performance Standard:
The learners transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the Philippine
literature of the past; comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles;
participating in conversations using appropriate context-dependent expressions;
producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of speech
effectively in various situations; and observing correct subject-verb agreement.

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:
ENVC-l-b-8: Use structural analysis to determine the meaning of unfamiliar
words or expressions from the material viewed.
 Identify active and passive voice of verb.
 Recognize and differentiate active and passive voice of verb.

 The teacher will…
1. Present the word “reheated” on the board and will tell students that this word
contains more than 48 words within it.
2. Let students identify 5 words only out of 48 and will also write their answers on the
board.
3. Reveal the 48 words inside the word reheated. (Letters from the words to be
presented are colored according to root-black, prefix-green and suffix-red. Words
are also classified according to number of letters.)
