Hook: ¿Qué tienen en común los elefantes del desierto de África, los albatros de ceja negra y los grandes tiburones blancos? Realizan algunos
de los viajes más increíbles de la Tierra, migrando por tierra, aire y mar en busca de comida, agua o compañeros.

Question 1: ¿Cuáles son algunas razones porque los animales migran?

Los animales migran con el cambio del clima y las estaciones. Emigran para encontrar un clima más cálido, mejores suministros de alimentos
o un lugar seguro para dar a luz a sus crías.

Question 2: ¿Cómo saben los animales cuándo migrar?

Los animales no tienen internet, GPS o incluso mapas para encontrar su destino, pero cada año logran encontrar su camino a través de miles
de millas de tierra y mar. Diferentes animales han adaptado diferentes maneras de navegar por la Tierra. Algunos animales usan el Sol y las
estrellas para averiguar la dirección correcta. Otros animales usan patrones de viento o puntos de referencia tales como montañas, ríos y
lagos. Aún otros animales pueden usar un sentido adicional que les permite usar el campo magnético de la Tierra para saber en qué dirección
ir. ¡Es asombroso lo que los animales pueden hacer!

Independent Practice:

Students will illustrate an animal that migrates and write a fact about why animals migrate.
