PRODUCT NAME: PREBOND-110TM (Rust Converter-cum Epoxy Primer)

DESCRIPTION:

It is a two water-based component latex anti corrosive rust converter-cum epoxy metal primer which
serves a protective dark black anti corrosive coating on the rusted metals structures, rusted pipelines, rusted storage
tanks as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT-Rebar) surface etc.

It can be directly apply on the rusted metal structures, rusted pipelines, rusted storage tanks as well as
rusted reinforcement (TMT-Rebars) surface etc. without sand-blasting, sort-blasting, wire-brushing, sand-
papering, grinding or any types of rust removing process for long-term anti corrosive application.

After its application, no red-oxide primer coating is required for painting. After its application it protects
the painted metal surface from further rusting for next 07*-08* years & without painting atleast 12*-18* months
with proper application.

PREBOND-110 is another unique solution to rust removing, sand-blasting, wire-brushing, sand-papering

and applying red oxide primer process for rusted metal structures & rusted reinforcement (TMT-bar).

It is an ideally suited to applications where rust removing, wire-brushing, sand-papering or sand-blasting &
surface preparation is a problem and is not practical or very expensive.

PREBOND-110TM (Rust Convertor-cum Epoxy Primer) has passed the IS 13515: 1992 for Grade-1
(Rust Convertor-cum Primer) as laid down by Bureau of Indian Standards.

What is PREBOND-110 (Rust Converter-cum Epoxy Primer)?

It is a two water-based component latex rust converter-cum epoxy metal primer for rusted metal structures,
rusted pipelines as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT-bars) etc., contains of two active ingredients is Tannic acid
and an organic polymer.

The first ingredient, tannic acid reacts with iron oxide (rust) which chemically converts it to iron tannate
phosphate and provide a dark-colored stable tannate phosphating coating. Tannins are a group of water- and
alcohol-soluble natural products extracted from fruits, trees and grasses.

The second active ingredient, latex acrylic polymer is an organic polymer that provides a hard protective
anti corrosive epoxy coating on rusted metal structures, rusted pipelines as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT-
bars) surface etc.

The overall this solution reaction converts rust into a stable, dark black protective polymeric coating that
serves as an excellent anti corrosive primer coating for both oil based and epoxy based paints or primers.

What objects can I use PREBOND-110 on?

PREBOND-110 can be used on any light or heavy rusty iron (mild steel) objects. It will not work on other
metal surface like; aluminum, copper, stainless steel or galvanized metal. PREBOND-110 is a good solution to
fixing rust on items you would consider painting or anti corrosive application on rusted metal surface, rusted
pipelines surface as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT Re-bars) etc. 08 mm to 32 mm etc.

How to apply PREBOND-110 on rusted metal structures, rusted pipelines surface or rusted
reinforcement (TMT Bars) surface etc?

For the better results, always apply PREBOND-110 02 coats in different 30 minutes time by using brush
for rusted metal structures, rusted pipelines as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT Re-bars) surface. After
application of PREBOND-110 (02 coats) always leave the applied metal surface atleast next 12 hours or
overnight for better results.

Can I apply PREBOND-110 on non-rusted metal surface, non-rusted pipelines surface, non-rusted
reinforcement (TMT-Bars) or old painted metal surfaces?

No, PREBOND-110 will not adhere to non-rusted or old painted metal surface. Always apply
PREBOND-110 on light or heavy rusted metal surface, rusted pipelines or rusted reinforcement for better results.

What is the surface preparation before its application?

You will want to remove large (dead) rust scale or dust particles with a wire brush or sandpaper. Then
clean the dust particles by using dry cotton. If the surface is greasy or oily clean the surface by using thinner for
prior applying of PREBOND-110.

Should PREBOND-110 be thinned for its application?

No. PREBOND-110 is water based & supplied in two separate containers Pack (A) white and Pack (B)
black. Shake well each container before use then mix the components in proper ratio i.e 1:1. (50-50%). On its
application do not use or mix any type of thinner or water for better result.

Can I apply red-oxide primer coating after application of PREBOND-110 for painting or concreting?

Yes, any types of red-oxide primer coating may be applied over PREBOND-110, but is not required.
Because, after application it is already serve anti corrosive primer coating on the rusted metal surface, rusted
pipeline surface as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT Re-bars surface) etc.

How many coats apply of PREBOND-110 on rusted metal structures, rusted pipeline surface or rusted
reinforcement (TMT-bars) surface etc?

Always apply (02) two coats on light rusty or heavy rusty as well as rusted reinforcement (TMT-Bars)
metal surface for long-term anti corrosive application. We suggest applying a third coat to assure complete
coverage and conversion.

Is it necessary to apply other anti corrosive paint for rusted metal structures, rusted pipelines surface
or rusted reinforcement (TMT Re-bars) surface after application of PREBOND-110?

Yes, if the metal surface is exposed to the outdoor elements, we highly recommend applying two coats of
PREBOND-110. After its 02 coat application, always apply 02 coats any types of paint or coal tar paint for long-
term anti corrosive application on exposed metals structures or pipelines. It will definitely extend the protective
qualities of the surface from adverse weather including rain, water, moisture and direct sunlight.

But, for the rusted reinforcement (TMT- Bars) surface does not required any types of other anti corrosive
coating for concreting for long-term anti corrosive application. After its application on rusted reinforcement
(TMT-bars) it protect the reinforcement (TMT-Bars) without concreting for next 12* to 18* in exposed outdoor
elements and after concreting atleast next 60* to 65* above year’s with proper application.

For, the acidic environments or highly corrosive area, we highly recommended applying PREBOND-220
(Anti Corrosive Paint) or PREBOND-150 (Anti Corrosive Coal Tar Paint) on factory metal structures,
factory shades, factory beams, factory trusses, factory pipelines, water pipelines & storage tanks etc.

What is the shelf life for PREBOND-110?

PREBOND-110 has a shelf life of 01*-02* years without mixing in air tight containers, and after mixing
(two components) atlease 15*-20* days.

Can I apply PREBOND-110 on rusted reinforcement (TMT-Bars) surface for long-term anti corrosive
application?

Yes, you can directly apply PREBOND-110 on light or heavy rusted reinforcement (TMT Bars) surface
for long time-term anti corrosive application. After application, it can be excellent bonding with metal to
concreting surface in construction industries.

The overall it is very useful anti corrosive primer coating on the heavy fabrication works, painting works &
construction industries for rusted reinforcement for both oil based primer and paints.
