3.8 Discarded structural material, ingates and other materials, which cannot be
reused, are dumped at the earmarked locations.
3.9 Waste generated in the colonies is collected in two different dustbins kept
for the purpose at nominated locations. The waste is further segregated as
bio-degradable and non-degradable, while, collecting by the concerned for
disposal at the disposal yard earmarked by the Municipal Authorities. The
Waste clearance shall be done at least twice in a week.
3.10 Wastes generated are handled and transported in such a way to avoid
spillages / leakages.
3.11 Ear-marked dustbins are provided at prominent places for collecting waste
paper / food packaging covers and used hand gloves / other wastes
separately.
3.12 Inflammable wastes is sold for alternative use or incinerated and not burnt
outside.
3.13 Materials Management Department maintains the approved list of oil re-
claimers and disposes the used oils to the approved re-claimers.
3.14 CDMS / Depot cuts the rejected wheels into the specified size pieces and
sends these pieces to Melt shop as raw-material.

3.15 Skulls, slag, refractory material etc. are disposed off through auction.
3.16 Sludge generated during scrapping of floor, cleaning of oil tanks etc. is kept
in drums for further disposal through incineration.
3.17 Carton boxes, wooden packing materials are collected and handed over to
STORES for further disposal.
3.18 Resin dust from Sand Plant roto clone be collected and stored under covered
accommodations with proper identification labels for incineration.
3.19 Empty paint drums are stored under covered accommodation before
disposal.
3.20 Empty oil drums are kept with their lids in closed condition before disposal.
3.21 Food wastes and other biodegradable wastes generated in the Canteen are
dumped in a pit to create manure, which would be then used for gardening
purposes.
3.22 Xerox empty toner container, empty ink cartridges are stored separately and
sent to Depot for disposal.
4.0 RECORDS:
4.1 The concerned shop / section in-charge maintains the records of generation
of wastes.
4.2 SSE’s are maintain the generation and disposal of used coolants records.
4.3 Senior Materials Manager / Depot maintains the record of disposal of used
oils / drums and other solid wastes.
4.5 The respective shop in-charges maintain a logbook for the type & quantity of
waste sent by their shops, date wise.
