The company is aiming to show itself as a high quality provider of food and other

products which are a better and more convenient solution for the people who will buy

these products separately since they include all the ingredients for good dishes to be

made. They advertise themselves as high quality and their whole aim with marketing is

to emphasize two things firstly the benefit and secondly the convenience of their

services. They benefits include significantly lower priced products due to the bulk

amounts along with multiple plans that can also sell the products at reduced price like

the financing options, buying with credit etc. Though they are selective about who credit

is given to, it is still a worthwhile service to use. On top of that the freezers are also

touted as important and useful products and use both personal and home selling for

promoting its servicing. On top of that discounts coupons, flyers detailing services and

promotional discounts to different types of people like those who are newlyweds and

just had babies are all part of the marketing strategy as well. The companys biggest

product is pork and it is produced and sold wholesale to the restaurant and fast food

places throughout the eat of Northern Carolina. The company has an extremely small

sales force and it is engaged in only one time and face to face selling of the product and

services. However, the fact is that there seems to be limited growth of customer

relationships amongst the different individuals. The company has product bundle pricing

and includes products that are from external sources rather than just pushing their own

products only. This helps to make the entire service far better and more appealing to

the different people present working in it. The company provides an entire experience

with their regular products. The food packages hold a lot of different kinds of products,
they wish to provide every single thing that a regular household will need. They sell

fruits and vegetables along with multiple meats that are both their own and sourced

from different places. However, due to the large amount of products in the package

they also sell the freezers which will provide space for storing them as well. These

freezers are sold on the basis of installments.

2. I have been able to identify multiple different problems with different areas of the

company and its marketing strategy. Firstly the decision making within the company

definitely has some problems. While it is admirable that the company focuses on making

themselves out to be a company that works in the best way possible to ensure the best

experience of its customers at the same time there are multiple problems with their

strategy. The first problem was that the marketing strategy seems to have been

designed according to what the owners of the company wanted the company to have

not what the customers needed. There is no evidence of market research or research of

any kind having been conducted for making sure to cater to customer needs. On top of

that the strategy is generic with regards to flyers and newspaper adverts when a

business like this needs to have unique strategies for promoting itself which are not

present here. The company does not have any defined mission either and has the wrong

type of philosophy of marketing as well. A mission provides a direction to the company

and so far it seems aimless. While there is a way to reach customers other than the

promise to replace any food not meeting expectations there is no discernible method to

take feedback from the customers and no willingness to incorporate it into the

marketing strategy to make it far better than it currently is. There are too many
payment programs for the multiple food packages instead of using a few and then

developing them later on. The company seems to be shooting all it can and hoping

something sticks eventually. Other bad decisions include giving Christy so much to do

when she is a university student who cannot handle all of it would obviously hurt the

business and not allow her to give it the time that it needs.

4. The first thing for Christy to do would be reevaluate particular parts of the strategy by

making sure to conduct surveys and better understand the customers she is dealing

with. She should also evaluate wants, needs, demands, buying power and other factors

of their potential market since this will help to better understand it. Other than simple

coupons and flyers the company needs more effective and personal ways of interacting

with their customers. On top of that they needs to improve customer acquisition,

perhaps that would be best done by reevaluating the people hired and either training

them better or ensuring that they get a better understanding of the sales technique the

company needs. Hiring better and more qualified people for higher positions within the

company would also be better though some employee downsizing might be needed to

keep overheads limited. Along with this the company must take advantage of its rich 25
year history and positions both of its company better to make sure that the parent

corporation has a better reputation overall.
