Final Project:
Make a scrapbook of a fictitious road trip.

You have recently returned from a fabulous trip to somewhere and you want to put your memories
down on paper. Be creative and think of it as telling a story about your trip. Choose a destination,
then think of activities, finally look for pictures online that help tell the story.

This assignment will have you include all your GIMP skills and will serve as the final project for this
unit.

Skills to include:

• Selections and Layers

• Combining images
• Cropped images
• Grayscale images
• Using the clone tool
• Using the distort/ iwarp tools
• Fixing redeye or other coloration problems
• Changing the contrast of a picture or the color balance
• Draw a clip-art shape
• Text boxes
• Transformations
• Importing patterns or brush shapes
• Drawing shapes, coloring their lines and filling them with color and pattern

Requirements of the scrapbook:

• No less than 4 pages (each 11’’x8.5”)

• Nice-looking, complimentary backgrounds and accent backgrounds on each page
• At least 2 pictures on each page, most need to have some kind of frame around them.
• At least 2 text boxes on each page
• You should personally appear in one of the pictures (you will need to find a picture of yourself,
or take one, and insert it… petting a buffalo, or in front of the Alamo, or something…)
